Black America's most esteemed filmmaker Spike Lee is experiencing his very own share of real-life drama.
The 'Jungle Fever' director is embroiled in a legal brouhaha with his brother over family real estate.
"Spike's a hypocrite, a liar and a phony," Christopher Lee said in an interview with 'The National Enquirer' in the Jan. 8 edition. "I'm about to get evicted because of this clown."
What ever happened to brotherly love?
Christopher, 48, charges that Spike, 49, has abandoned him and is squeezing him out of his inheritance; a valuable parcel of Atlanta land that their 100-year-old grandmother Zimmie bequeathed to be divided amongst the five siblings.
Throw in the fact that Christopher is allegedly on welfare and this "story" sounds a bit sensational.
But since Spike is known not to pull any punches --or mince words -- he was quoted in the piece, stating to reporter Don Gentile: "I'm not the first nor will I be the last public figure who will be accused by a sibling for not doing enough. My question is, 'When is enough enough?'
Good question.
Christopher also revealed that his millionaire brother gave their 78-year old father Bill Lee "just a pair of sneakers for Christmas," and said when he encountered him at their grandmother's birthday celebration about the land, Spike told him, "I'm not giving you a dime."
The acclaimed auteur, who scored Oscar nominations for films such as 'Malcolm X' and '4 Little Girls,' mandates that his brother's claims are "falsehoods."
"Nonetheless, my siblings and I still love him," he added.
This is a dog's mess. But at least Spike is remaining classy about it.

Why is it that family thinks just because I got I have to give it to you when we both had the same chances. My money is my money and if I work to make it I can choose how I spend it. If you choose to wait on me for a handout or think I should give you something then that your problem not mine. I'm in the same boat as Spike lee and I have a 9 to 5 but family that's sitting on their behinds always say, she know she got it I don't know why she's always acting like she's broke. Well you're claiming broke why can't I.
I'm with Spike Lee get up and get yours then maybe I'll help you when I see you helping yourself.
Peace.

You know we as black folks should stop being so judgmental... Now how in the world did the making of when the levee broke have anything to do with the rebuilding of New Orleans? This is just simple.
Black folks need to stop blaming everybody for their problems.
This must be another trait we carried with us from our history of slavery.
Nevertheless some how some way we have to get a real grip on this thing call life.
Now let's just use our brains that something GOD did give to us… Why after all these years is Spike brother is coming out with this non-sense why?
It wouldn’t be because he just couldn’t get his self on track with life, no that wouldn’t be the reason in our minds it Spike doing him wrong.
He’s right when is enough really enough. (Never in the black community mind. That goes for most of us.
Let’s just keep sucking the blood right out of each other so none of us would be worthy of anything.
Instead of thinking you that brother is another blood sucking human being.
No we refuse to believe that he’s probably refused to work to obtain anything within this life just looking for handouts.
We instantly believe that Spike is doing his own family member wrong. When I started reading the comments I had a flash back of how the news portray us and how we come running out the house when we know our children had done wrong but no we refuse to accept this fact so we start looking for excusing to blame someone other when we can just let the person that’s responsible for the crime do the time. Whatever the case maybe in my own opinion I believe Spike brother is one who refused to provide a pathway for himself in this life and reality has finally hit at 48 year of age and he’s running scared because he figured someone was should have handed him one more handout.

IF CHRISTOPHER DIDN'T PAY HIS RENT, CAN HE BE EXPECTED TO PAY THE PROPERTY TAXES. LETS FACE IT...EVERY FAMILY HAS ONE......

It is all so easy for one to comment and place judgement against the one who has risen aboved average but he would have not risen without being focused and committed to what he was doing. I think critics ought to trust Spike's judgement because he knows his brother far better than we.

Just Because Spike Lee Has Money It Doesn't Mean That He Doesn"t Care For His Family Or Brother It Comes A Time That They Need To Grow And Show That They Can Be Responsible For There Own Life.
