Jamie Foxx is making history once again.
He will be the first Academy Award winner to spearhead a satellite radio channel.
Take that Oprah Winfrey & Friends!
The BV Newswire has learned that the box-office superstar and J Records recording artist will launch an exclusive urban comedy, entertainment and lifestyle channel on Sirius Satellite Radio called "The Foxxhole."
As executive producer, on-air host and contributor for the channel, the star of such movies as 'Ray,' 'Collateral' and 'Any Given Sunday' is expected to draw from his wide array of artistic experience and success from music, comedy, film and television.
The 24/7 channel will feature urban comedy bits from a large number of comedians, and will create groundbreaking approaches to presenting comedy to radio listeners, as well as showcase music, skits, radio theater and more.
The multiplatinum-selling funnyman (currently on a North American tour with 'American Idol' winner Fantasia) will be heard on the channel daily with a segment featuring dispatches from him no matter where he is in the world, confirmed a spokesperson for the network.
Also, Foxx and his team of contributors will host a yet to be titled weekly show on the channel, featuring original comedy bits and a new approach to radio theater.
"The Foxxhole will break new ground in comedy, blurring the lines between stand-up, sketch, and music," said Foxx. "Sirius ... gives me the opportunity to create urban entertainment and programming like you have never heard on the radio."
The 'In Living Color' alum, currently starring in the movie version of 'Dreamgirls,' joins the network's growing stable of celebrity talent which includes shock jock pioneer Howard Stern, diva of domesticity Martha Stewart, hip-pop artist Eminem and video vixen Melyssa Ford.
"The Foxxhole" will launch this spring on SIRIUS channel 106.

Very nice to hear. I have had Sirius for over a year now (got it for Howard), and I love the programming. Foxx will be a good addition. I hardly ever hear good Black comedy on RawDog.

Good for him. But by the way, Eminem won an Oscar for the song Loose yourself. So he is the first Academy Award winner to spearhead a satellite radio channel.

I hope your progress is onward towards your own intuitive and talented gifts.
Let Oprah be an inspiration and not an conpetitive hatred act OK?
We know how it is and we know that respect has always worked for us as a people...
Your comment "take that Oprah" seemed somewhat cynical and somewhat of a diss.. as if you were doing this radio gig to show Oprah that you can do it and she is not doing it and that you needed her to be doing what she is doing in order for you to try to compete with her....
Just continue to do your thing and remember that Oprah was doing her thing before you got started, and you should respect yourself and her as you continue to progress. You already have awards that Oprah did not get, so why get the press involved with a fighting energy rather than an inspiring energy?

Jamie should say THANK YOU THANK YOU AND THANK YOU OPRAH & ALL OTHERS. Ray Charles was great, which also open a door for Jamie.
