"Everyone wanted me for that role except the director... But it wasn't for me. I tried really hard. But I can't even be mad. That role was for Jennifer Hudson. I feel like I was meant to win 'American Idol.' And I feel like J was meant to play the Effie role."
-- Fantasia Barrino on losing the 'Dreamgirls' role to Academy Award nominee Jennifer Hudson (Vibe Vixen).

I saw the movie dream girls and I was so very proud of Jennifer Hudson. For her first acting debut she was awesome she made the part her own in every way.
What a voice on her as well, I watched idol and even though I love fantasia, I believe she didn't deserve the crown, my opinon. But since she has it she needs to try to get better song writters so she can have a shot at a grammy, that's what really matter at the end of the day. Jennifer Hudson is so humble and greatful for the journey she is on and good luck to her. I really wish her the very best.
ou know you made it when Oprah has your back!! I don't care what people say once Oprah loves you America Loves You!!

all the talk about fantasia/jennerfer and beyonce singing is rediculous. I MEAN IT IS JUST WHAT IT IS. come one now. Jennifer is a diva lost in racial non-sense of american idol. the girl should have one atleast first place in that show. she can sing. fantasia also has the lungs to sing. Beyonce knowles,is a HIPPY of HOP! and the chip munk voice of hers and the whole rest of hip hops falsetta is just to rediculous to even compare to either of those to young women. LIKE I SAID IT IS WHAT IT IS.

No need for anyone to be jealous Both Jennifer and Fantasia have tremendous voices and God given talent.
They will be both on the music scene for years to come.
And fantasia tone down your dressing and sing on . God bless you both.

Good attitude Fantasia. Some people are negative and that is what they look for negativeness. Both ladies are positive and very talented. They have been blessed.

I think both ladies,Fantasia and Jennifer are awesome. The were both blessed in a unexplainable way. Ladies, use what God has given you to His glory. Don't overstep your boundaries, trying to achieve more than you can handle, and you will be blessed accordingly. Keep up the good work. Fantsia, you can dress somewhat more conservatively. Your talent is what got you this far, not dressing so unfitting for a lady. You can still look good with the proper clothing. And the performance you belt out will override the costume.

This just shows you what a class act Fantasia is, and I do love me some Fantasia!! I think she's a diva in the making, and I love her whole perspective of this "fame" thing - She doesn't flaunt it, she doesn't use it crassly like so many others, and she's just the poster girl for talent and perseverence. She took the bumps, and the criticism, and the hate and turned it around to her advantage.I hope she sings for 40 years like "Re-Re", and has nothing but all the best that she deserves.Ms. Hudson was truly the right person for the role of Effie - she totally ripped it up!!! Her career has to be on the rise after that performance. I hope the pompous, a##holes on "American Idol" are kicking their own butts everyday for letting her get away. Her success must be really sweet revenge!!!

AMERICAN IDOL WAS THE VEHICLE TO ASSIST JENNIFER AND
FANTASIA TO REACH ONE OF MANY GOALS IN THEIR LIFE. I AM TICKLED PINK AND OVER JOYED WITH JOY AND HAPPYNESS FOR BOTH OF THESE YOUNG LADIES. THEY ARE CERTAINLY OUR NEW DIVAS...

I love Fantasia always so humble and thats the best part, very gracious and very inspiring to many..I read the entire article in Vibe Vixen and all i can say is her mother must be very proud she raised such an outstanding young woman...As Tasia would say when you send blessing up then blessing will come down and she is being bless everyday with that vocal abilitly that is untouched and will take her far in this industry

I don't understand all the drama that has come with the making of these two beautiful and up and coming stars. God places us in positions a situation he wants us to be in and for Fantasia adding the role of Effie in Dreamgirls to her credits was not what God wanted for her at this time. This doesn't mean that she could not have made the role her own. As for Jennifer, God just saw this as her time to shine and shine she does. She is certainly deserving of all that has been coming to her, she has a beautiful voice and does a wonderful job in the film. I recently purchased Fantasia's new album and must say that although it is a nice CD it isn't all Fantasia I think that she should keep with the soulful R&B style that her fans have come to love, it is who she is and it is that style that will move her towards that status of Diva. I'm sure that when Ms. Hudson's debut album drops will be see that she too was deserving of the American Idol title as well. Both of you ladies keep doing what your doing, keep God first, keep dreaming big, stay focus and enjoy the gift that God has made possible.

As a brother, I'm glad to see my beautiful sisters make it out of the struggle, and succeed. Forever, our people and our talents, have been discounted, excluded, degraded, and overlooked. Our most precious commodity is our magnificent women- our big ones, our tiny ones, our dark as coal ones, and our light ones.Society (White society) has NEVER given them props
for their strength, talents, or beauty - it was always the "Blonde, Blue eyes, rail thin women who were the face of "American Womanhood". Not any more, and thank God. We have some of the singing'est - cooking'est - dressing'est- loving mothers on the planet in Black Women, and we need to elevate them to the heavens. They deserve it, and they need it.Brotha's....if you got one - you better treat her like the royalty she is, and teach your sons to do the same. And hug your daughters - tell her she's a Queen to be. Your words are gospel, and your deeds are her template for her future.Fantasia and Jennifer....Do ya' thang ladies!!!!
