Queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige may be the queen of the Grammys (having the most nominations this year), when the ceremony airs live on Feb. 11 on CBS.
But the 'No More Drama' singer's also making synergy work with a starring role on the popular CBS drama series 'Ghost Whisperer.'

Blige, playing against type, will take on the role of Jackie Boyd, the coach of a high-ranked high school cheerleading team whose members are being disabled, one by one, by seemingly freak accidents in the days preceding their big cheerleading competition.
Melinda (played by the series' star Jennifer Love Hewitt) soon discovers that the vengeful spirit of a former cheerleader is behind the calamities and that a life-altering happening in Jackie's past is hindering her sincere efforts to put a stop to her team's adversities.
This is a big deal for Blige, who usual television appearances feature her singing her hit songs. While her music will be featured in the episode, she will take a bite out of the dramatic role.
Although she was rumored to have been approached to play the role of Shug Avery in the Broadway musical, 'The Color Purple,' Blige has also appeared in the Lifetime medical drama 'Strong Medicine,' 'The Jamie Foxx Show' and in the straight to DVD movie 'Prison Song.' She's been attached to an untitled Nina Simone biopic.
The episode of 'Ghost Whisperer' will air Feb. 9 at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT)

I Love Mary so much she is my Idole and every thing she do is just a trial of life and she take it and keep going no matter what. She did not stopped sing for nobody she kept going if she was crying or happy. She made the best of what she was good at and I am 24 years old and til this day i still want to meet her and tell her how much i love her from day one I have had all her cds tapes what ever. Keep going going girl I hope This is the man for u this is time if not dont give up. Even though I no u want. I love U Ur the best ever

I'm a huge Mary fan, so even though I don't normally watch 'Ghost Whisperer', I will watch it tonight. Go on and get 'em Mary! I am so proud of her for breaking through all that adversity and bull to be the queen that she truly is!

I like that show, but I don't watch it much because my
wife doesn't like "ghost" shows. I'll be watching it tonight though because we both love Mary. All I used to listen to was Rap and she's the reason why I finally start listening to R & B. She's as real as they come.

I think Ghost Whisper is the most Spiritual show they have ever shown on tv. It is doing great in the second season. I think Jennifer Love Hewitt plays the heck out of Melinda. And Mary J just put the edge on the show tonight. It was very emotional (as always) and Mary showed her emotional side at the end of the episode. You are quite the actress Mary J, and I hope you have many more co-staring or lead roles in the future. Stay Blessed:)
