Armed with a string of major award wins and an Academy Award nomination, 'Dreamgirls' star Jennifer Hudson is becoming a mainstream media darling for sure.
Already gracing the cover of best-selling black women's magazine 'Essence,' the 'American Idol' cast-off will reportedly grace the cover of 'Vogue' magazine.
Today, fashion newspaper 'WWD' reports that the plus-sized Chicago born powerhouse will be the cover subject of the legendary fashion industry bible's 'Power' issue.
"Hudson was photographed by Annie Leibovitz at the Apollo Theater as part of a seven-page photo essay inside, but the chances of one of those photos ending up on the cover were high even before Hudson won a Globe late last month. But, presumably, her win helped seal the deal," reports Stephanie D. Smith. "Vogue has featured only two African-Americans on its cover since December 2002 - Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry and model Liya Kebede."
And then there was all that drama that the magazine's longtime editrix Anna Wintour reportedly put media mogul Oprah Winfrey through to lose weight for her big cover shot in the late 1990s.
My, oh my have times changed.
I wonder what Hudson had to endure -- she has been spotted and photographed over the past few months with the magazine's Editor At Large Andre Leon Talley, who is presumably an instant fan of hers.
Perfect timing for 'Vogue' -- this month is Black History Month.
Next month is Women's Herstory Month.
On Feb. 25, Hudson may win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.

I am so proud of Jennifer Hudson, because it shows that even in the midst of adversity, and most of all rejection, you can still make it, only if you keep beleiving in yourself and letting GOD direct your pathway. As far Beyonce, and as a Texan, I am extremely proud of her and all her accomplishmentsm for she truly make me and other TEXANS "TEXAS PROUD". JH was a great contestant on IDOL, but lets not spite fantasia, cuz she was a magnificent talent and very strong competitor. GP, longtime Hollywood Agent with one of the longest operating black owned Talent agencies in the business. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!

I am extremely happy for Jennifer. She has a sweet spirit and she gives God the glory on the front end.I have heard people say after a devestating situation that God had a reason for doing it.I don't think that He does bad things although He doesn't always stop bad things from happening, that's just life, but I know that He does good things for people. He can open doors that no man can shut and viec versa. I love Beyounce too. you go girls.
