"Not to toot my own horn but a lot of girl singers black and white are starting to sound like me. Honestly, I did hear myself in that Beyoncé song, but I didn't get mad. I figured influencing others is a part of my purpose as an artist."
-- Grammy Award nominated hip-hop soul artist Kelis on her influence on Beyonce. (Uptown)

I think that they did get that yelling shit from her but i like some Kelis' other work like her "Living Proof" she is all her self i think she is a beautiful person perosnally she is way more high fashion then Beyonce with her F*cked up weaves. But Beyonce isn't versatile she sound the same on all her songs but anyways i'm done.

I myself like both of them.. and ring the alarm, did have the same type of urgency in a sense as i hate you so much right now... on different spectrums they achive different things... mainstream beyonce.. but underground...kelis... they both get equal time in my cd players...

I think Kelis is DELUSIONAL and EGOTISTICAL!!!!!
She does not have HALF of the vocal ability or respect as Beyonce.

I loooove Kelis and Beyonce. And I can see how she would have thought that Beyonce sounds like her in Ring the Alarm. Some people may not remember, but Kelis has been out there way before Amerie's "One Thing" and Beyonce's "Ring the Alarm". I think Kelis makes great music for everybody to listen too. And she's right. She's in a league all her own and no one's giving her the props she deserves. But I'll give it to her, before there was Lily Allen (still too new for alot of yall), Beyonce, Amerie, there was Kelis's "Runaway from Home". I hope ya'll don't scare my girl off.
Keep doin' your thing. I know what you meant!

Kelis could never compare herself to Beyonce. Beyonce is very talented and she appeals to a much larger audience than Kelis ever will. It's sad that Kelis is sitting home worried about how Beyonce is biting her style.Maybe she would be better off mentally if she thought up a way to reinvent herself, ya know.

THAT IS JUST RIDICULOUS! SHE HAD TO BE TELLING A JOKE OR SOMETHING! THEY SOUND NOTHING ALIKE AND KELIS IS NOT EVEN IN THE SAME LEAGUE AS BEYONCE! I HAVEN'T HEARD HER "SING" ANYTHING SINCE SHE MADE "CAUGHT OUT THERE" STOP IT!
