Last week Janet Jackson was making the rounds at Black Hollywood parties.
This week, news reports state that she will return to the big screen in a Tyler Perry project.
Go figure.
For those who have been craving to see "Miss Jackson if you're nasty" demonstrating the acting abilities -- that first made her a household name in the 1970s sitcom 'Good Times' -- a pairing with Perry's black-centric, mellow dramatic storylines is genius casting.
According to published reports, Jackson has signed on to star in 'Why Did I Get Married,' based on Perry's popular stage play and best-selling DVD of the same name. The story is about a couple who goes away with friends every winter to examine their marriages in a group setting. One of the wives brings along a sexy young temptress who is a world of trouble.
Neo-soul powerhouse Jill Scott and 'Boston Public' actress Sharon Leal -- most recently seen in 'Dreamgirls' -- has previously been cast in the film, which is set to begin shooting on March 5 in Whistler, British Columbia.
Jackson's last film role was in Eddie Murphy's 'The Nutty Professor II: The Klumps' in 2000.
She was reportedly tapped to star in Lee Daniels' forthcoming drama 'Tennessee' but dropped out because she was too thin. Mariah Carey is currently shooting the movie.
Perry's latest flick, 'Daddy's Little Girls,' has grossed over $25 million since opening on Feb. 14.

Awesome!!! I can't wait to see 'Why did I get Married' --Tyler Perry's work is a blessing!! On top of the many talented actors and actress- I noticed it was mentioned that Jill Scott was casted!!! Phenominal, now I HAVE to see it I absolutely am a big fan of Mrs. Jilly from Philly!!!!

You are a very lovely young lady. I have watched you grow to this point. Keep up the good work. My grandson is one of your greatest fans, he had tried so many times to get in your dance group, he is a great dancer, and has met you on several occasions, he made it to the last 10 but was not selected.(anyway he still a great fan of yours along with me. Rose, you honestly believe that Janet had NO IDEA that J.T. was going to grab her breast, rip her outfit and expose her itty bitties??? Come on now! Let's be realistic here! It was SOOOO VERY planned by the both of them! We all know they rehearsed over and over again and the outfit was especially designed to be ripped away at that particular "area". Rose, it is what it is---both parties are guilty!

M's J Jackson, You go girl, and that mess about what happen with the outfit, big deal there are other stars on the silver screen that leaves nothing to the imagination so what is the big deal. A lot more than she did that day. So just drop the drama on that one and be proud of the Lady for what she is doing, Congrats I am proud of you.

That's just great. Janet needs to do something that would be positive for herself, and her imagine. Since there are people who doesn't want to give it up and let go of the whole Super Bowl fiasco and the fact that her last CD didn't do so well, I believe that this is something that can turn people heads away from those things that happen a long while ago. She is beautiful, inside and outside. I know that her linking up with Tyler Perry is going to be a step of many good things to come in her future.
Go ahead Janet, you are the woman. You are also my SHERO. You have never given up on what you love to do, regardless of what situation has come your way. You deserve happiness and doing this movie with Tyler Perry is going to open up doors and windows of opportunities for happiness. Don't miss out on them girl.
