Is Tyra Banks addicted to the camera?
Already super-successful with 'America's Next Top Model' and her daily eponymous gabfest, the former supermodel turned TV mogul is now ready to roll out another show.
She recently revealed to 'Vanity Fair' magazine that a new reality show, titled 'The Glamorous Life' is in development, centering on what happens to a 'Top Model' loser after she goes back to her "obscure life."
"It's a really funny idea," said Banks agent Nancy Josephson.
Apparently the "funny idea" came into play once the former Victoria's Secret model realized that she was getting too close for comfort with the show's cast-offs.
"Sometimes on 'Top Model' we wrap at three o'clock in the morning and then I'd have to wait for her to go to the hotel room, pack her bags," Banks revealed. "I would talk to her for an hour and hold her hand and give her advice."
"Then, after a while, my people told me, 'Tyra, you can't do this. We have therapists here that are doing this, you know. You can't. And I was like, OK! I have to detach myself and I've detached myself a lot in order to survive."
When asked why she thinks she was spending so much time with the girls, Banks -- who is executive producer of 'Top Model' -- responded, "It's like I have to make sure she's OK."
"I felt like I created this show, I plucked this girl out of her obscure life and put her here, and it's my responsibility to make sure that she's successful."
Oh, ok.

I love Tyra. I am a dedicated viewer. I just think that there are so many more cracks in the industry that could be opened. Like older women, who has lived for fashion all their lives. Women who could give her show a twist. Young girls ages 5-13 who could make a very interesting show. Learning self confidence and self worth. Our young men, who also could use this chance to make it in the industry. It is just so many more avenues to touch on. But, I respect her and I will still give her new show a try.

Shamash you know whats up.I give Tyra nuff props for opening the doors for some women black or white. Women that probably would not have gotten noticed walking down the street. But, Come on black people. Look at your sister, mother, brother. When you can wake up looking how you fell asleep that's beautiful and wash and keep it moving that's beauty. Beauty is not when you go in the mirror and get made(make)-up. It is a mask that is not the real you.Made up faces can be looked at as beautiful like a doll or a mask or even a piece of art work. But,what happens when the make-up comes off. Being in that industry is what it is costumes and make-up. I love America's top Model but my life doesn't stop because it's on. Nor, do I wish to participate. Just entertainment plus I love fashion. But,I do not wear make-up. Don't feel the need Tyra do your Thing.

I love Tyra Banks! I really enjoy ANTM. I often wondered what happen to the girls that did not make it?! I have seen some of them like Ya-Ya who used the show as a platform and now she is on the big screen. This new reality show will tell all. It's not to insult them.. but sometimes when someone can look at your past and see where you came from they can appreciate you more now in what your trying to become. It opens even bigger doors for you. You always take a negative and make it a positive! I do not agree with one response I read that Tyra has an issue with lighter skinned black women and hispanic women. However, what I do believe is that she requires them to step up there game... if they can't step it up on her show then Paris, England etc. will eat them alive! Because she has experienced the good, bad and ugly she has set the stage and broken some more grounds for them to be welcomed and excepted. We all know that sometimes in life YOU JUST GOT TO TAKE IT and make your mark!

Yes give Tyra a brake. If you watch her show she does try to help the black young lady's. She tried despartely to help the light skinned young lady last year. Girlfriend was a beautiful young lady on the outside, but she had a ugly desposition, that's what got her booted off. Tyra's not making anyone watch her shows, so if you don't like it don't watch. She has been standing up for the big girls. As long as you're happy and healthly she says love yourself. Keep on Keeping on Tyra ---- You go girl!!!!!

I think Tyra is opening doors for alot of people who would have otherwise fell by the wayside. She is the most genuine celebrity next to her mentor Oprah. I'm proud of what she has accomplished most models her age would have used their looks to get a billionare and live a pampered life as a trophy wife. However, Tyra mentors young girls/women of all ethnicities and encourages them to believe in themselves. How many of us working regular 9-5 find time to mentor young people, not many. I love you Tyra and always will, you make me proud to be a beautiful, powerful, black woman. Like Mary J says "you can hate it or love it!" Much success with your new show I will be watching.

Jermain if anyone has a problem with African American females, it's you. Blacker and nappier, who the hell are you? Who says something like that? I don't know what color you are but you need a reality check. I don't know what dark skinned sister turned you down or broke your heart, but get a life and stop putting down the black race just because you may come up a little short in life, not to mention some other places.

Kayla I am feelin you girl! I think Tyra is harder on other black females becuase she knows what they will have to go through in that industry and it is better to have it come from another black female then from a white female or a white designer that really dont give two cents about your struggle. I applaud Tyra and i dont see anything wrong with her wanting to give back to others and to the person that said she does not have the brains of Oprah.....well i think that just goes to show what type of brain you have. Tyra is a very intelligent black woman and my 9 year old looks up to her as well. My 9 year old does not talk about Oprah she talks about Tyra and how she wants to be like Tyra because Tyra likes to help other girls be famous. Tyra is a wonderful role model and i wish her the best in anything that she does. And by the way she is right.....i understand how she feels as though it is her duty to make sure those girls are okay after they get voted off. She did pluck them from their everyday normal life and bring them to a show where they have ti endure alot in a short period of time. If anything we should applaud her for even caring about the feelings of these girls. I love to see it when she has the one on ones with the girls. That goes to show the kind spirt and heart she has.
Renee~~
