Just in case you were wondering why Will Smith wasn't at last Friday's live telecast of the NAACP Image Awards -- where his latest box office hit 'The Pursuit of Happyness' won in the Best Film category -- it's because he was in a New York City hospital.
According to the 'New York Daily News,' Smith is currently being treated at the Hospital for Special Surgery on the upper East Side of Manhattan. "Will strained his shoulder on Thursday morning and after work immediately went to the hospital," a spokesperson confirmed to the tabloid.
"He worked Thursday and Friday and was just having a little bit of therapy. It is absolutely not something major or life threatening."Let's hope not.
Between trekking to Los Angeles to do the awards circuit, the former 'Fresh Prince of Bel Air' has been taking a bite out of The Big Apple for the past few months while shooting his new film 'I Am Legend,' a sci-fi action flick due out later this year directed by former music video director Francis Lawrence.
