A gang of music artists including Michael McDonald, OutKast's Antwan "Big Boi" Patton, Bobby Valentino and Ex-EnVogue diva Dawn Robinson will come together for the Atlanta Chapter Recording Academy Honors on April 26.
The gala event, presented by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, will pay homage to Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Organized Noize, Trisha Yearwood and local recording studio owner Mike Clark.
According to a spokesperson, The Recording Academy Honors Award was established to celebrate outstanding individuals whose work embodies excellence and integrity and who have improved the environment for the creative community.
Formerly known as the Heroes Awards, this annual gala supports the Atlanta Chapter's ongoing advocacy, education and professional development programs.
Island Def Jam chairman Antonio 'L.A.' Reid, who helped put Atlanta on the music industry hit-making map with LaFace Records in the 1990s, will be on hand as a presenter for the event, to be held at the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel.

I think it is great that Luda is being reconized. He has come along way with his craft and the fact that he can put out songs that actually have a msg. and not down women is a beautiful thing. Alot more artist/rappers need to pay attention. Never judge a book by its cover. God Bless you Luda Keep up the good work.

if luda really wants to get serious about his acting career he should play in a biopic of martin lawrence. he is a dead ringer to that dude. the story could be about marting being born in germany and stuggling to be a comedy star and it can also deal with the success of his tv show and how it ended when tisha campbell sued him for sexual harrassment. the movie can also be about his excessive drug abuse, his crack attack which landed him in a coma and his major comeback on the big screen. go luda go!!!

Let's tell America about the Hood when once about a time these lyrics where associated with our neighborhoods. Our MC's didn,t fabricate there lyrics they felt they had a responsbility to tell the real deal about the Ho's in the hood trying to survive. You know were we come from it's just another job and you dress up your services in your neighborhood with the Escorts. You can not blame our society of people for keeping it real. You invest in us and it's not our fault you don"t invest in our neighborhoods. The real tragedy in this whole controversy is the fact that you still act like you don;t hear the message in the music it is a cry for help not a lifestyle we protect. Have a little love in your heart and keep it real in Black America for the change is coming. respond brothers and sisters if you here me and let's philosphy for a new generation a tell another inconvenient truth
