Reports are circulating that Janet Jackson is being sued for a whopping $120 million.
But she remains undaunted.
While Leonard Salati alleges that two of Jackson's bodyguards grabbed him and choked him when he attempted to pass the singer a note at Club Marquee in February 2004, it's business as usual for the pop music icon.
According to hip-hop website sohh.com, lawyers for the veteran singer/actress were hoping to overturn the case, but Justice Rolando Acosta decided against it. He said that despite saying she only had one bodyguard with her and boyfriend, hip-hop music super-producer Jermaine Dupri, representatives for Club Marquee say she had three.
The judge said: "Not withstanding [the] counsel's valiant effort to shield Ms Jackson [the law grants] no exemptions based on celebrity status."
While the story may be picking up some traction, Miss Jackson focuses on her newest endeavor.
She's making a return to acting with a role in the forthcoming Tyler Perry film 'Why Did I Get Married,' which just wrapped last week.
An insider at Jackson's camp told The BV Newswire that they are not releasing a statement regarding this matter.

This will be thrown out in court so fast. If this is allowed, then every celebrity will be vulnerable including the president.

in reference to superwmn59 comments. we all know that MS. JACKSON is not the president of the U.S.A.I beleive if she was she could do a better job than the one we have right now. But back to the point, those bodygaurds done their job, and that jackass should've thought twice before trying to approach someone with MS.JACKSONS star status. IF I was one of her bodyguards I would've stomped his ass in the ground instead of choking his stupid ass.

I FEEL THAT THIS ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO FOR SOMEBODY TO TRY TO GET RICH QUICK. I HAVE READ A FEW OF THE STATEMENTS THAT SOME OF THE FANS AND READERS HAVE POSTED. AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT IS IS NICE TO KNOW THAT PEOPLE HAVE SINCE ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT WHAT THOSE BODYGUARDS WERE DOING WAS IN THE BEST INTERESTED OF JANET. HOW CLOSE DID HE THINK ACTUALLY THINK THAT HE WAS GOIN TO GET 2 HER. ANYBODY WITH HALF A BRAIN SHOULD KNOW THAT BECAUSE OF HER STATUS SHE IS GOIN TO BE GUARDED CLOSELY AND THOSE BODYGUARDS ARE BEIN PAID TO DO WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO. I HOPE AND PRAY TO GOD THAT SHE BEATS THE CASE

Ms. Jackson should have to pay. It is about time that she and her hoodlum/jailbird body guards realize that if it were not for the public a no talent, non singing, plastic doll and her midget boyfriend would not have careers. I think their blatant disrespect for the law is finally be scrutinized and held accountable. I salute the Judge...

Ok, so here's the 2 sided coin as I see it; What do these "celebrities" think is gonna happen when they show up at "clubs" where all of the "regular" folks hang out? I mean I'm sure they get tired of maybe hangin out only with other celebrities, but that is the life they're in. Yeah, they "should be able to go anywhere they want without being mawled etc, but let's face the reality of it all shall we? Side 2, you know, if we as fans would act like we had some sense around these people, maybe they would'nt have to have bodyguards at all, I mean come on, they're "HUMAN", most of us would'nt spazz out like that if "JESUS CHRIST" himself showed up.

Is this guy for real? Why did this even make it to the court system. Once again our tax dollars go to something as stupid as this. I have been to clubs where someone famous has been there with bodyguards. You can't just approach them and think nothing is going to happen. Most stars don't mind shaking your hand and taking a photo or 2. But you can't just walk up to them like that. What he should have done was approach slowly and ask the bodyguards first. They would have then checked with her to see if it was alright or not.
You can't just rush up to them and think nothing is going to happen, no matter how innocent your actions truly are. Just think...if he had a razor or a knife in his hand and they would have let him approach her...think what would have happened. People just need to smarten up and use common sense. There are real maniacs out there so they have to be cautious of everyone and everything...just look at the whole Saundra Bullock incident.
