Maybe, the man is right. But the decision is totally up to Oprah. She seems as though she has been happy with Stedman for all of these years. So just let it be.

Jackie, you're too ignorant for me to really respond to, however I will say this. Married women have, for centuries, confided in one another. It is not abnormal for women to have a female confidante. If you knew anything about the male brain you'd know they really don't have the capacity and/or desire to really listen to women go on and on and on. We all know, as women, we have that tendency. But, it's ok. Another woman understands it. Where do they get these people?
Next, Oprah's ratings are not in the toilet and she's not on NBC. Her show, for your information, is on ABC. Cecil, I believe it was Mother Teresa who said and I'm paraphrasing that when the morals/values of women drop the communities are lost. Let's face it. In all reality, women guide and set the tone for the family and have for many, many years. The more educated, knowledgeable, and successful black African females the less crap you'll see over in Africa. They'll be able to hold offices, influence laws, and change their communities one by one. You have to have a vision and see ahead of you to understand what Oprah is doing. That's why Oprah is Oprah, doing what she does, and you are where you're at, wherever that is in life.
It's so sad to see that we still have some who always fall back on cussing and showing their level of intelligence anytime they have to explain themselves or their actions. Some people really need to grow up.
Gayle, I don't know how old you are but keep growing and it'll all come to you. We all know the dictionary definitions. "Nigger" is an ignorant person per the dictionary. However, we also know the word hurts people and pierces their souls when they are called that word, especially if the person saying it is of Caucasian descent. It has, historically, been a term used to degrade, dehumanize and disregard the very existence of black people as being merely a mishap. Afterall, according to some, blacks are apes. You can say that it doesn't matter to you. But, be real with yourself. Study yourself, your history and learn. It'll come.

I would like to respond to Jackie and Gayle’s comments and also make my own comment.
Jackie from reading your comment I think you are a very bitter and unhappy person. You need God in your life.
Gayle I feel no one has the right to call anyone anything other their given name. We should respect one another. A human being is a person and a dog is an animal.
I would like to say that Oprah has the right to live her life anyway she chooses. It doesn’t matter what she does or say someone is going to criticize her. Only god can judge her. She is doing a wonderful job in Africa. Women there are treated as second class citizens. They have no voice. If you educate a woman you educate a family.
Where are our other influential black people? Your rap stars are getting rich degrading black woman and then buying cars, guns, homes, etc. has anyone of them start a foundation to help young black men and women. No they are too busy buying bling-bling.
Our black athletics get rich and marry outside of their race. When they are climbing the ladder of success they need black woman. However once the bucks start coming in we are no longer desirable. Then when they are used and have fallen, then they remember they are black.
So stop criticzating someone who is helping our people.

I have a hard time believing Mr. Winfrey actually made the statement which has been attributed to him. I actually thought Mr. Winfrey was more prudent than to give the media such a "tantilizing" sound bite concerning his daughter's personal business. Nonetheless, if people knew Steadman Graham or have had the opportunity to hear him speak, (as I have), there would be NO question, that Oprah is getting just as much, if not more, out of being associated with him as we may speculate Steadman is getting out of being in their relationship. Steadman Graham is not only well-read, well-spoken, insightful, analytical and highly accomplished, but, undoubtedly, has inspired and influenced Oprah as well as helped her to become the individual she is. Over the years, Steadman has been tremendously emotionally supportive, kept her grounded and appears to be the personification of "the wind beneath her wings." [Name another Black male who would still be involved in a relationship and withstood public and media scrutiny, speculation and vilification].
And ---- just for the record, I never thought he was particularly good looking. He has demonstrated, however, that he has qualities which transcend outward appearance.
Lastly, it is sad that simply because females are close friends, individuals in our society feel compelled to insist they must be homosexual. Perhaps only when these individuals are fortunate enough to experience connecting with another person on a similar level will they realize it is possible to achieve depth in a relationship independently of sex, sexual interest or orientation.

OK, sticking to the TOPIC at hand, hint to Jackie and Gayle. Lord IGNORANCE is bless. While I respect Mr. Winfreys opinion, I also keep in my that opinions are like azz holes everybody has one. I think the statement he made is a very old school way of thinking. What Oprah and Steadman has is magical. They are enjoying the best of both worlds and has stood the test of time under media scrutiny and harsh insults. Oprah, my hats off to you Sister, you have proven to the world that black is beautiful and you are just as beautiful on the outside as your are inside. Those children in Africa need you, and to ignorant asses that have so much to say about what you, Alicia Keys, Bono, Jay-Z, Beyonce', and Angelina are doing for the kids in Africa. You tell them to Kiss your not so fat azz..... You don't need a piece of paper to make it know that you are in love and love being with that special someone in your life. Hell, if more women would stop saying I DO to the first think that LQQKS in their direction, maybe the divorce rate would be far less!
ENJOY YOU MONEY, YOUR MAN, YOU AFRICAN KIDS, AND YOUR LIFE LADY "O" I LOVE YOU!

I think Oprah is very intelligent and very private, which is a good thing. That is a big problem with Hollywood, too much of their business in the news. I say, Oprah keep it like that !!!

I am soooo so sick of every person in the world meddling in that woman's love life and in her money.. If that woman chooses not to marry a man that's her damn business and none of you, your, him, her or anybodies damn business. And her money.. that's her damn money not your's. Shut the "F" up.. she made her money and she can spend it how the hell ever she pleases. And stop trying to marry off her money to some broke "M"F'er so he can claim some kind of credit for the success of her life that he didn't create. And sister's in particular should be ashamed for jumping on that "Why isn't Oprah married.. she need a man" bandwagon.. Looks like she's doing just fine without one to me. I bet if she was a broke down ghetto woman waiting on a welfare check, you wouldn't give a damn if she had a man or not.. so shut the "F" up!
