To help diffuse all of the rumor and innuendo (and some facts), R&B hear-throb Usher (last name Raymond) issued a statement yesterday afternoon to clarify whether or not he fired his longtime manager/beloved mother Jonetta Patton.
Through his new spokesperson, power publicist Patti Webster, the 'Confessions' singer said the following:
"In light of several creative rumors regarding my career and personal life, I've decided to finally address a few of the accusations and stories that are currently in the media."
"First, it is true I have met a very special woman and friend, Tameka Foster. But contrary to the various media reports, she has no aspirations of becoming my manager or any other artist's manager."
"As it relates to my mother, Jonnetta Patton, she and I are on great terms and support each other in our life's endeavors. We are both very happy but are now working in different areas of the business. This is great for me because it means I now get to have my mother strictly as my mother with no added pressure. No one will ever know how much she has taught me as it pertains to living my life and having a successful career. But now that I am maturing, growing into my manhood and have new priorities, one thing hasn't changed. That is being able to have a close knit family, something that means more to me than anything in the world. So at this time in my life, I am simply more interested in building the strength of my family. And in order to do that, I feel its best to separate my business life from my personal life."
Oh okay.

I'm also a strong believer in the word of God. I do believe that you do reap what you sow. I still don't feel too good about this whole situation that Usher is just all of a sudden firing everyone that he has worked with for years and has helped him shape his career into what it is today... but, to each his own. In th end, Usher is a grown man and he has to live and learn. No matter what anyone says, Usher is gonna do what he wants to do. Whether he's making the right or the wrong decisions, God will reveal it to him. Have y'all ever heard that saying "a hard head makes a soft behind"?... nuff said

Raymond, God bless you.
Don't set yourself up for regrets. Regret is what you will experience if you allow anyone or anything to come between your relationship with you and your mother. You have so much to be thankful for, especially the love and care that your mother has placed in you, and in your career. Growing up does not mean excluding one's loved ones. Growing up means that you should, even the more, love and appreciation for your family. Happiness borne of infidelity, can never last. Everything we do to others will, come back to us. Don't throw away all you have achieved. Protect yourself, your fame, your fortune, and your relationship with your Mom, only she and God will be there for you when times are hard. I'm sure you've learned this from previous experiences.
God bless you and may he open your eyes to see clearly. Please open your eyes and ears and your heart to be receptive to those who truly love you and want what's best for you in this life, God, your Mother, your fans, but most of all, love yourself.
