Stevie Wonder is all up in the Ella Fitzgerald mix.
The multiple-award winning music genius has been added to the big all-star tribute project, celebrating the musical legacy of Fitzgerald
Verve Records, who will release 'We All Love Ella: Celebrating the First Lady of Song' on June 5, has confirmed that the music superstar's rare version of 'You Are The Sunshine of My Life' will be included onto the set, which already boasts tracks from Queen Latifah, Dianne Reeves, Gladys Knight, Michael Buble, Natalie Cole, k.d. lang and Chaka Khan.
While all of those other big names in music will sing newly recorded songs that were popularized by the late vocal stylist, Wonder's contribution is the only one that will actually feature her.
And it's none of that computer generated musical magic trickery either.
The classic song was recorded live when the two music giants performed together in New Orleans in 1977, according to a label rep.
Wonder also joined the celebrity line-up for the all-star concert that was filmed in L.A. on April 29. He performed a crowd pleasing, harmonica laced version of 'Too Close For Comfort.'
The 90-minute special will premiere on PBS June 6 at 9:00 p.m. (ET).
Look what I found: Ella Fitzgerald singing another Stevie Wonder classic.
Wow, The power of Viral Video.

Thanks for the info. I do have to clarify that "For Once In My Life" is NOT truly a Stevie Wonder song. Though he did record a very popular version, it was performed by Tony Bennett before Stevie's and Stevie didn't write this one- It was Ron Miller.

In a world seemingly obsessed with the grossest of lifes offerings it is extremely good to hear of a project saluting an era and an artist who seemed to be able to share all of the good in gifts and song even then when things were not as they could have been but nothing like what we are seeing today.KUDOS to this project and Gods blessings on all involved.

I love Stevie Wonder. I love the songs he has made. My birthday is May 16th. I believe that Stevie's birthday is May 13th. Although I was born before Stevie, I am very happy that was born in the same month as Stevie.

Bless you child this brought tears to my eyes.I must say todays so called music performers can't come close to
her talent. I feel so blessed to have come up when music was music. I thank my Mom who is now gone home for exposing me to the likes of all music. From Gosopel to
Jazz to Blues to R&B. It was a great time for music before the music died.

I have always loved Ella Fitzgerald. My favorite song by her is Miss Otis Regrets. A very cool song. The lyrics grabbed my attention when I was very young and I could never get them out of my head. And Stevie wonder. . .shoooot, what's to say?! I grew up listening to him. He's also on the sound track of my life.

Hey,
Just wanted to say Stevi is truly a Wonder!
To me he is a testiment to God's grace and Mercy.
I think he should be listed as one of the so-called 7 wonders of the World (seriously).
Oh did I mention that I'm a fan of this Humanitarian, visionary, vocal stylist, musician Supreme?
