What's really going on with Whitney Houston?
Said to be on the comeback trail, the Grammy Award winning diva is back in the news again -- in good ways, and bad.
Last week, the former top-charting chanteuse was made headlines.
And she also made head turns, as well.
According to 'Fox News' gossip guru Roger Friedman, sources said that the 'I Will Always Love You' singer looking "stoned" at Stevie Wonder's lavish 57th birthday celebration during the star studded opening of The Cove in The Bahamas.
But a record label source dismissed that talk.
"Whitney ... is straight as an arrow, not doing drugs and working hard in the studio. That's the word from her record company Monday in response to my weekend report," Friedman wrote two days later.
Okay.
Back at the ranch, her ex-husband Bobby Brown filed papers in California's Orange County Superior Court recently challenging the terms of his April 24 divorce. According to 'MTV News,' the former pop star turned reality TV personality is claiming he was distraught, depressed and so strapped for cash at the time that he couldn't afford a lawyer. He's now specifically trying to contest a judge's decision to grant physical and legal custody of the pair's 14-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, to his ex-wife.
'Access Hollywood' obtained papers that support Brown claims. The documents reportedly claim that "Whitney repeatedly assured Bobby that he need not file a response and that reconciliation was possible," and that "Whitney did so at a time when she knew that Bobby was particularly vulnerable."
A June 15 court date has been set for Brown's new case.
And while Whitney is done with Bobby, Verizon is officially done with Akon.
But she said to be ready to make musical magic with the Senagelese singing sensation -- even after the telecommunications giant dropped him as a spokesperson (thanks to the internet footage of him in a comprising position with a minor.)
The 'Locked Up' crooner has reportedly signed on to write and produce material for her big comeback project. According to 'Billboard,' Akon says the songs will most likely represent everything she's been through over the years, as well as where she is now in her life.
The album, which may feature collaborations with Ne-Yo, Diane Warren, R. Kelly, Jermaine Dupri, Jennifer Hudson and Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, is expected to be released later this year.

Akon is garbage. I don't know why people think his music is something special...but I guess if u don't know what real music is, you would be confused. Whitney WAS good. No one can take u anywhere u don't choose to go. Her voice isn't the same and probably won't ever be again.

whitney, there`ll be no other singer like u. i`ve been ur fan since i was seven years, now i`m 23 years and i see ur preson taking over your music career in me. your my mentor, my role model, and nobody can beat u. your the best singer i`ve ever heard and your music will always make melodius music to my ears. You can make it, there`s no mess up without a message, all that happened was in the past, now you can stand up to be the broken pieces together. We all have phases in life, your coming out of this trash as refined as gold. Your just the best and will always soar on top. I believe in you.Go out and prove to Bobby and we your fans that you can make it. Your a champion and will always be. Looking out for the album, cos i know your worth, and what you can do. Ride on.

When I read the comments above about Whitney Houston tears comes to my eyes. It shows that Americans are forgiving. Everyone seems to come to the same concensus....Bobby Brown was a key factor in Whitney Houstons demise. I am so thankful that Whitney is getting her life together. Whitney Houston if you ever read this....we love you and pray that you will remian committed to your own success because there are a lot of people that love you in spite of what the media has tried to do to you. As a African American Black Woman I say - You Go Girl and continue to RISE. You are setting an example for women who have suffered with addictions they see you they see hope. Thank yof for getting better!

Whitney Houston has done the impossible and that is make a come back as a black female who got lost in the world on drugs and got rid of that big sack of trash who never cared for her the way she loved him. She has her daugther and a new beginning and I will always LOVE her for taking that chance of forgiving her self and listening to the angles when GOD told them to help pull her up inspite of what man kind as said and done towards her. Whitney Houston if you read this I am living proof that you can do all things through Christ Jesus. I am Proud of you SISTER.
