Outside of selling millions of records, netting a few Grammy Awards and being two of the most recognizable names in the music business, Mariah Carey and Sean "Diddy" Combs has something else in common; they are considered some of the "worst" of the worst.
According to published reports, the 'Vision of Love' singer was named the worst singer of all times by British entertainment magazine 'The Word.' The multi-platinum selling pop diva is described as "clearly the worst thing to happen to popular music ... All technique, gallons of surgery gloop, and not an atom of soul anywhere."
Ouch!!!
Meanwhile, Diddy made Retrocrush's list for "100 Worst Cover Songs of All Time." His reworking of Led Zeppelin's classic 'Kashmir,' which he used for his single titled 'Come With Me' drew ire from the popular pop culture website.
"Admittedly it's not a full remake of Kashmir, but Puff Daddy goes beyond his typical uninspired mumblings on top of classic song beats and actually convinced Jimmy Page to play all new guitar on this mess," the site noted. "Fitting that it was on the soundtrack for the American 'Godzilla' remake, cause just like that movie, this just takes something that was really really cool and ends up being hollow and silly."
Others making the first part of the offbeat list (which collects YouTube videoclips to accompany the commentary) include Paris Hilton, the Pussycat Dolls and even Whitney Houston (for her record-breaking version of Dolly Parton's 'I Will Always Love You').
Hmmmm.

Retrocrush does not have a clue about music if they feel Whitney houston remake of Dollys parton I Will Always Love you derserve to be on this ridiculous list. I personally believe this song help Whitney Houston become the megastar she was.

Where does this website come off making such audacious disparaging remarks about a venerable veteran in the industry like Mariah Carey? Yes, like anyone else, she has experienced some controversial episodes throughout her career, but she has persevered and endured through them, and has earned a reputation as one the great pop legends of the era.
As far as Puffy goes, perhaps there is some credence to statements made about his creativity as an artist, or lack thereof, but I do not condone bashing anyone who is not overtly promoting immorality, violence, or disrespect towards women through his or her music.
Puffy, for me, reflects a progressive deterioration of modern-day music, but I respect him because he at least makes an effort to promote an auspicious public image.

Whitney??? Are they kidding?? Dolly Parton herself said she liked Whiney's version better than her own. Mariah can be a little corny at times, and Diddy, he lacks any kind of musical creativity and originality. He is the king of sampling.

How in the hell that British magazine disrepected Mariah, and put her on the worst singer list??? Huh?,I'm mean come on now.She has hit high vocal ranges 5-7 times at the beginning of her career. She is already make MTV's Greatest Voice of all time ever.Let me tell the magazine. She make the #1 on MTV's Greatest Voice by the viewers and her fans. She got the most powerful voice. She also along side like Aretha Franklin.Gladys Knight,Diana Ross, and more.So the magazine better put her on best singers list, and put Cassie on the worst list,or else.

Now, I have never really thought that Puff Daddy was all that. It always seemed to me that his fame was acquired through his association with Biggie Smalls. Mariah and Whitney however, are THE REAL DEAL. I know the British have always been in love with Black music but that does not give this "rag" the right to set itself up as judge and jury about who may or may not have soul.
