Outside of selling millions of records, netting a few Grammy Awards and being two of the most recognizable names in the music business, Mariah Carey and Sean "Diddy" Combs has something else in common; they are considered some of the "worst" of the worst.
According to published reports, the 'Vision of Love' singer was named the worst singer of all times by British entertainment magazine 'The Word.' The multi-platinum selling pop diva is described as "clearly the worst thing to happen to popular music ... All technique, gallons of surgery gloop, and not an atom of soul anywhere."
Ouch!!!
Meanwhile, Diddy made Retrocrush's list for "100 Worst Cover Songs of All Time." His reworking of Led Zeppelin's classic 'Kashmir,' which he used for his single titled 'Come With Me' drew ire from the popular pop culture website.
"Admittedly it's not a full remake of Kashmir, but Puff Daddy goes beyond his typical uninspired mumblings on top of classic song beats and actually convinced Jimmy Page to play all new guitar on this mess," the site noted. "Fitting that it was on the soundtrack for the American 'Godzilla' remake, cause just like that movie, this just takes something that was really really cool and ends up being hollow and silly."
Others making the first part of the offbeat list (which collects YouTube videoclips to accompany the commentary) include Paris Hilton, the Pussycat Dolls and even Whitney Houston (for her record-breaking version of Dolly Parton's 'I Will Always Love You').
Hmmmm.

Ummm...Maybe its just me, but as far as I can see, Americans give very little credit to British musicians who have a large amount of talent compared to many other artist here in the US. We seem to only give credit to the Beatles who where good but shouldn't be the only British band mentioned. There are many others like Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osborne. For Mariah, I have every single one of her albums, but there are some things that lack even though she is a great singer. Being a great singer does not translate into a great preformer. She is extremely over-dramatic and is a very sad person. It doesn't matter that she's mixed anymore, but she keeps trying to play the sympathy card off it. There are plenty of mixed people who get over it. P. Diddy has no talent along with the Pussycat Dolls. Maybe its just me but you can't have a band of 6 people and have only one singing throughout the entire song. Whitney Huston is a great singer/preformer but has lost her mind. She's put herself and her fans through so much crap that its some what idiotic to instanly forgive her. I was a fan but it will take more that just a divorce to Bobby Brown to make me take her back as one of my favorite singers.
Americans are very hard on British singers and i'ts very hard for them to hit it big in the US. That doesn't mean that they lack talent or that they aren't as good as othe American singers, they just don't want some "beatles clone" or they WANT a "beatles clone".
Anyways, let it go. They aren't talking about you personally so forget it. Americian magazine say worse things. Thats part of being famous.

I believe their are other reasons behind the bashing of miriah, maybe because white folks thought they finally had a white girl with soul, only todiscover she was BLACK!!! As for diddy if he is sampling white folks songs and you feel he owes you something charge it to michael bolton"s account he got rich off black folks songs.

what the heck are these people thinking!!!!!!!! mariah carey is a great singer with a great voice range! I consider her to a be one of the most greatest singers of all time along with whitney houston before she ruined her voice on crack. I so confused about the inane statement made about her I can't think straight. now p.diddy yes he is isn't the best singer or rapper he mostly gifted in business mangement and finding new talent but mariah carey come on now think!

Who is this person who wrote this stuff? The only thing I did agree with were the comments in regards to the Pussycat Dolls and Diddy. This person obviously doesn't have a clue when it comes to Mariah & Whitney. If you ask me music now is horrible and he should be rating singers like Rhianna and that stupid song "Hey Ba-by" and can make it in the business. He needs to get a clue.

Wow, how the heck can "Brits" say they dont like Mariah & Whitney? P. Diddy, okay. He's not all that great anyways so I dont care. But being an up & coming artist myself I find it offensive for them to put down 2 of our great R&B singers. FOR A COUNTRY THAT CAME OUT WITH 'SPICE GIRLS' AND THOUGHT IT WAS COOL SHOULD HAVE NO PLACE TO TALK ABOUT SUCCESFUL R&B MUSIC!!!
