'The View' is sure looking fuzzy these days.
Since big, bad mammer-jammer Rosie O'Donnell abruptly departed the estrogen-centric daily chat-fest, things have been tumbling downhill -- quick, fast and in a hurry.
A year after Star Jones Reynolds (also abruptly) exited the decade-old talk show, karma seems to be wielding its ugly head for the show's near-80-year-old creator/producer/star Barbara Walters.
For starters, the assortment of colorful talent that has guest-hosted the program hasn't turned up any real top contenders to fill Jones-Reynolds' big, old Payless Shoes.
And things didn't really turn out too rosy with the heavyweight lesbian comedian as the ringleader, stepping in for Meredith Vieira -- who seemed to run to greener pastures with a lead anchor job at 'The TODAY Show.'
The former 'Grease' star and Madonna gal pal clashed with nearly everyone she came into contact with -- including having a nasty verbal dust-up with real estate mogul Donald Trump, and her ongoing political battles with 'View' co-host and former sneaker designer Elzabeth Hasselback.
Since O'Donnell's departure, Nielsen Soundscan stats show a 13 percent decline in household ratings for the show in the past two weeks, published reports indicate.
And Walters thought that bringing in O'Donnel, coincidentally, right as they were trying to put Jones-Reynolds out to pasture, was the piece de resistance.
Uhhhh, nope!!!
She was left holding the bag.
A very heavy load.
But if you've been paying attention that last few days, you see how things have really gotten a bit out of hand.
Especially when it comes to Star Parker!
The new black star, who sat in as a co-host last week, caused a fury on the show -- with her ultra-conservative values and right wing proclivities.
Another wrong move!
Walters, holding on to her old glory days of being a ratings champ, came off as rude, crude and just downright dastardly during her awkward interaction with the 52-year-old former welfare queen, who traded in a life of crime (and four abortions) to be an Ambassador of a staunch Christian doctrine.
She seems to be taking out some pent up aggression on this black woman.
And having Michael Moore (promoting his latest film expose 'Sicko') on the show just added more grist for the mill.
Watch the clipped-up clip below to get the gist of what goes on nowadays at 'The View.'
Not a good look at all.

I love my race and I know some things we witness might be frustrating, and we want to prove points and say "see, see they are racist" without being ANALTICAL
But the shows ratings have actually gone up:

This article is from the New York Times 6/22/07 and for my sisters who could not see that STAR was being LOUD, PUSHY, AGGRESSIVE, and CONFRONTATIONAL--I cry for you
You can't beat or yell your point to someone. Doesn't Michael Moore look overwhelmed?--We sometimes get too passionate and others can't understand this, so we are avoided.
She was like a Well-Spoken Medea
P.S. Whoopi will be joining the cast in the fall--YEAH

I stopped watching "The View" when they dogged out Star Jones for having perks that they wish they had! They are all jealous, unhappy, bitter b*****s! Cranky Babs who is the ring leader is a closet racist and stabs her own friends in the back.

I agree with the previous post. I beleive BW is a closet racist. She doesnt have a clue as to what is going on in the real world all she knows and cares about is whats really happening in her snob world. For a journalist she sure is afraid to give both sides. She would rather brush it under the rug to save her own reputation. BW your show is called the VIEW so stop trying o shut up the cost host when they give their point of VIEW. Also if you noticed when Ro was on and it got controversal BW wouldnt show up for the next few days, why? to save her reputaion so she stayed away. She's the real coward.

I think they should really stop trying to fit a black women in their little group. We don't belong and I really don't think that many black people watch the View. It sucks with or with out a person of color. I watched Woopie on there recently and she didn't fit. They need to focus on finding another white women to discuss their white issues.

I tried to stop watching the show when Star left and I did for awhile. Then when Rosie came on, I watched out of curiousity and found myself enjoying it. Rosie wasn't the saviour, but the show did improve. To be frank, I was tired of Star and her holier-than-thou attitude once she lost the weight. She should have just fessed up and admitted that she had surgery. Instead, she tried to pretend that the weight was just "coming off so fast" which clued me right away that she had surgery.
Nonetheless, I was embarrassed when I watched Ms. Parker spit her rightwing mantra all over the place. I was annoyed by BW's attitude, also. She was obviously perturbed!!!! Please be more careful about selecting a black woman to be on the show. The Imus debacle showed why the show needs a black woman. Who speaks for us????

Black people have just as many diverse opinions as any other people. The media has always shown us as wild-eyed, crazy left-wing liberals who will fall for anything when it is well known that we are some of the most socially conservative people in this country. I don't like The View, but I am glad that another politically correct, leftish, bullshit revolutionary wasn't chosen to guest host the show.

So Whoopi now adds The View to her long list of failed projects. Whoopi is acting like Hollywood's Angel of Death. I can see her sickle coming for that pregnant O'Reilly wannabe and the entire cast. The only person who will survive the Veiw is Joy. What do you get when you have a bunch of angry females sitting around arguing? I don't know, but it's not entertainment and it's certainly not "The Party". Bad move Whoopi. I didn't even know you were doing Showtime at the Appollo.

The new Star needs to disapear.
I watched the clip where she had a chain on her neck that spells hood!!and no class. She tore into M. Moore so bad it made me ashamed for her.Barbara was right to make her get to the point but I think she really did not know what her point was. She is just an older version of a hood rat that turned to religion because all else failed get a job,get a life and get off of The V.
