The one and only Prince will help launch his brand new 3121 fragrance at a special in-store event at the Macy*s of Minneapolis on July 7.

070707 is a special day for many, including millions of folks wanting to get married on that special date.

Prince will introduce the much buzzed about 3121 with a concert and special 24 hour online philanthropic event. 1400 fans will get a chance to see the performance, get some 3121 fragrance related goodies and attend a party for the introduction of the scent.

Only if they cough up 250 bucks.

But the Verizon pitchman isn't pocketing all of the cash, the event will raise funds for seven charities chosen by Prince and the Philadelphia-based fragrance development and consumer product company Revelations.

In addition, visitors who log on to his website (www.3121Perfume.com) on 07/07/07, from 12 am-11:59 pm, will have the opportunity to purchase the 3121 fragrance for $31.21.

Seven percent of each sale will be divided among the charities, which include City of Hope, Jazz Foundation of America and The Bridge.

"Our goal is to raise a half million dollars for charity," said Revelations President Larry Couey. "Prince has always been generous and this is an opportunity for the public to join him in giving back in a very large and meaningful way."

As I typed this, I just realized that the numbers 3-1-2-1 add up to 7.

Now I get it.

Prince is clever as always.
