Garcelle Beauvais is the cover girl of the August edition of Playboy magazine, expected to hit newsstands this week.
The bronze beauty, known primarily for her acting work on the TV sitcom 'The Jamie Foxx Show' and on the drama 'NYPD Blue,' is also pregnant and expecting twins later this year.
Talk about perfect timing.
Beauvais, who is married to talent agent Mike Nilon, is expecting two sons to be born this November, according to published reports. The twins are the first children for the interracial couple, who have been married since 2001.
Beauvais is already the mother of a 16-year-old son (Oliver) from a previous marriage.
Born in St. Marc, Haiti the screen siren's original claim to fame came in the form of fashion modeling. Signed to the Ford Modeling Agency at 17, she has graced the pages of Essence and Ebony and appeared in catalogs for Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom., along with print advertisment campaigns for brands such as AVON, and Clairol.
The Haitian sensation is also known for her parts in music videos for Luther Vandross and R. Kelly -- her role as Mr. Biggs' woman Lila Hart in the surreal and sad 'Down Low (Nobody Has to Know)' video is classic.
Over a decade later, the 40-year-old MILF (an acronym for mothers who are sexually attractive) is baring her all in a tasteful Playboy pictorial -- and is looking better than some women half her age.
Wowza!
On the acting front, Beauvais will next be seen in the thriller 'I Know Who Killed Me,' starring Lindsay Lohan and Julia Ormond, due out this summer.

She makes it seem great to have a white man take nude photos of her. And sell to all of his cronies. As if she made it anywhere. Why didn't she just start her own magazine.

I'ts great that she has been able to keep herself in such
great shape, but she loses me when, a mother ,and a wife shares that with the world. A single woman should show more humility than that, so a wife, and mother certainly should. Just my humble opinion.

I wouldn't buy the magazine anyway. Let all the whitemen buy it. That is who she is selling to.

I think if anyone has a beautiful body and they are given an opportunity to model in Playboy. They should take that opportunity, and as for the fact that she is married to a white man. No I don't think she is selling out. I don't think she just jumped up one morning and said,"Today I'm going to marry me a white man." They fell in love just like everyone else.

Playboy magazine is owned by a whiteman and started by a whiteman. It is considered a respectable magazine. She is just another example of a long Harem to display for them. Hallie Berry said it best;they are out of the closet. Don't get me wrong but I'm not bitter. It is just another example of human nature. I have only gotten older and wiser in my days and people like her are still not better than me. It is just another way of her going back to the plantation. She probably worships and praises the ground her lover walks on. It is what you do in life that matters and my soul is content. I don't cherish the ground these people walk on. She does not represent me. African American men should not give money to Playboy for her. She is bought and paid for.

I agree with Cynthia and CHAT. Now a days what is "bad"
is "good" and vice versa. No matter how "tasteful" it is. It's still porn, however 'softcore' it is. As for steven when were YOU in Africa naked? This also makes me think of a "discussion" I had on youtube. How some our people justify calling each other the 'n word'. Just because the ending -igga and not -iggeR. Playboy is porn, period. Plus it's hard enough being 16, let alone having all your homeboys see ya moms bidness!

IN RESPONSE TO COMMENT #16, YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT (NO QUALMS ABOUT IT) BLACK MEN NEED TO STEP UP THEIR GAME.
HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS STAY OUT OF PRISON PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY, RECOGNIZED THAT IF YOU ARE ATTRACTED TO MEN THEN YOU ARE GAY AND SLEEPING WITH A MULTITUDE OF WOMEN WILL NOT CURE OR SUPPRESS THE PECULIAR AND UNNATURAL AFFINITY TO MEN THE ONLY THING IT DOES IS CAUSE PROCREATION OF CHILDREN THAT YOU WILL ABANDON AND INFECT WITH AIDS NOT TO MENTION THE BABY'S MOTHER ALSO.
AS I GREATLY DIGRESS MS GARCELLE IS A GROW WOMEN AND SHE KNOWS OR HAS AT LEAST CONSIDERED THE OUTCOME OF POSING FOR PLAYBOY. I FEEL THIS IS HER WAY OF PROMOTING HERSELF TO LET PEOPLE KNOW THAT SHE IS STILL HERE AND NEEDS AND WANTS TO GET SOME ACTING WORK. HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY, JOY FANCY IS GETTING NAKED FOR PLAYBOY!

As I was reading everyone's comments, I could not stop thinking how forgotten the African-American struggle is. Garcelle is beautiful and No, she will not be "defamed" for posing nude, but sadly enough, neither will Whitney for drug abuse, R. Kelley for his porn video, Rape artist for their involvement with drugs and weapons, etc. The truth of the matter is all they have to do is make another hit record. All the while they are having a greater influence on our already troubled youth, than the home, the school and yes, the Church! If we do not get smart collectively as a people, in terms of what we define as acceptable behavior we will be further doomed. Yes, Garcelle is beautiful, pornography is not.

Do any of you read Playboy? Have you read Playboy?
I use to get Playboy, then came the black mags, especially King.Playboy is classy. All or most of the pics are tasteful and some of the articles in the mag are way better then any of these other mags that sell sex-King,FHM to name a couple.
So, congrats to a beauiful woman, black 40yr old getting the cover- WOW.
Peace - D-Mac
