Though it's not the cover of 'Essence' nor 'Ebony' magazines, Star Jones Reynolds plans to finally reveal the whole truth about her dramatic weight loss in the Sept. issue of 'Glamour' magazine.
"I wrote an article because I really wanted to go as in-depth as possible about the way I've changed physically over the last 10 years on the air," the former co-host of ABC's 'The View' said on Sunday, during a Court TV press conference for the Summer Television Critics Association Press Tour.
Reynolds, who drew ire from her critics when she described her whopping 100-pound-plus weight loss as a "medical intervention" said she has no qualms about viewing photos of herself when she was very super-sized.
"I actually like seeing the old pictures because what it says to me is, 'You never allow yourself to get there again,'" the 45-year-old member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. said. "It was dangerous to me. Very dangerous. I was killing myself."
"I thought that that would be the most effective way to answer everybody's questions," she explained about the feature, titled "Getting Over Myself."
Perfect timing considering that Court TV is going through its own metamorphosis: the network will be renamed truTV and move away from its traditional programming.
Kicking off the newness will be Reynold's eponymous talk show, titled 'Star Jones Show,' set to premiere Aug. 20. It's described by the network as a forum for criminal justice issues that intersect with the pop culture world.
On New Year's Day next year, the channel will be officially re-launched. Still offering court coverage for six hours a day, the Time Warner-owned network is also developing series on female bounty hunters in Miami, con artists and life-or-death rescues.

This is good for Star but it is nobody's business how she lost weight. The fact that she did it and is healthier is all that matters...

You Go Girl!!! Tell your story, when...where...how you want to. The View did not make you, you made them. Look at where they are today...struggling. They need a whole new makeover in my opinion. Barbara was pissed you left on your own and without her "permission" or knowledge. Star you are exactly that...a star. Keep your feet grounded and you will do well.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that she lost that weight by either liposuction or the lapband, or gastro bypass surgery. Regardless, I just hope she's had an attitude adjustment to go with the new body, because she always appeared to be a pompous know it all.
