Though it's not the cover of 'Essence' nor 'Ebony' magazines, Star Jones Reynolds plans to finally reveal the whole truth about her dramatic weight loss in the Sept. issue of 'Glamour' magazine.
"I wrote an article because I really wanted to go as in-depth as possible about the way I've changed physically over the last 10 years on the air," the former co-host of ABC's 'The View' said on Sunday, during a Court TV press conference for the Summer Television Critics Association Press Tour.
Reynolds, who drew ire from her critics when she described her whopping 100-pound-plus weight loss as a "medical intervention" said she has no qualms about viewing photos of herself when she was very super-sized.
"I actually like seeing the old pictures because what it says to me is, 'You never allow yourself to get there again,'" the 45-year-old member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. said. "It was dangerous to me. Very dangerous. I was killing myself."
"I thought that that would be the most effective way to answer everybody's questions," she explained about the feature, titled "Getting Over Myself."
Perfect timing considering that Court TV is going through its own metamorphosis: the network will be renamed truTV and move away from its traditional programming.
Kicking off the newness will be Reynold's eponymous talk show, titled 'Star Jones Show,' set to premiere Aug. 20. It's described by the network as a forum for criminal justice issues that intersect with the pop culture world.
On New Year's Day next year, the channel will be officially re-launched. Still offering court coverage for six hours a day, the Time Warner-owned network is also developing series on female bounty hunters in Miami, con artists and life-or-death rescues.

to everyone who says she should loose the glasses, get over it their just glasses. I'm glad that star jones lost the weight. i do think that she lost quite a bit. she should have just came out and said that she has gastric bypass, lapband, or lipo (i think she had gastic bypass). it is nothing to be ashamed about, she was morbidly obese. i never really watched the view until after she left, but i watched when rosie was there and all i can say is that what goes around comes around. the show has turned into a show where they have guest co-host everyday. they should just stick with one person. Star may be a little stuck up but who isn't? i never really liked her that much but i think that losing the weight was good for HER and it really is no one's business ultimately.

What I don't understand is why Star doesn't want to tell exactly how she lost so much weight. Having had a Gastric Bypass myself and losing 138 pounds, I tell anyone that asks. I feel that if I can just help one obese person feel better than the pain I went through was worth it. People who have never had a weight problem and have never been obese can never fully understand the walking underwater feeling that most obese feel constantly. Any medical intervention can be a great thing to a person who has tried everything to lose weight and stop people from looking at them as if they actually want to be that way. Vanity may play a part in it but overall health issues that the obese generally face are the biggest consideration! Congratulations Star but remember your words or rather lack of words could be used to motivate another person to get the help they may need.

When Star first lost the weight and got married (whatever the order was) I couldn't watch The View anymore because she started acting so phony and when she joined AKA she really started being obnoxious. However, when I look at the two pictures above I have to congratulate her on the weightloss. She looks so bloated and unhealthy in the before photo and very fresh and vibrant in the after photo. I know part of that weight gain was probably due to the stress she was dealing with at The View so I hope that her new show is a success and I'm sure it will be because she loves the law and now she gets to sit around with other great legal minds and chat about it. Many Blessings Star!

Greetings Star,
You are just that, a star, plus the mother of cilivization, plus the female (black women) that all other females wish that they were born to be. You bad girl.
The weight lost was a step in a very positive and healthy direction. No matter how you lost it, please study HOW TO EAT TO LIVE, by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. You will keep the weight off and health will continue to improve.
You look great.
Peace/Love and Much Respect
Brother Harold

I think star body looks really great, but her facial apperance is little to none.. It to school girlis and not enough sex appeal.. I think with her new body she should accommondate herself with more makeup and girl put back on those glamous long sexy wigs.. Nevertheless, what ever you decide to do in your future endeavors, I'll love you always and u will always be my black sister role model/superstar..

First of all, no disrespect but ur all wrong. Surgery dont make u that skinny! trust me i know! The reason why she don't want to tell anybody cause it was illegal what she did! If you still lost, it's called "acid". I know almost a dozen of females who was 190+ who took acid for one week and drop down to 120-. When you do acid it burns the fat from your bofy instantly. The problem is that u could never gain weight again! If you dont believe me then look up all of her other pictures. She is so skinny that u could see the veins in her neck! surgery don't do that!

Weight loss for health reasons are great, however one can over do it. Black men like a little more to hold on to. But all and all Star did the right thing.
