Timbaland plans to go into uncharted territory with his work on Madonna's forthcoming album.
The hip-hop super-producer, who crafted chart-topping hits for blue-eyed soul singers Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado, is ready to use his old black magic on the old pop diva -- also known as the "Mother of Reinvention."
"We just did Madonna's record," the Virginia native told MTV . "Me and Justin did the records for the album," which he said is near full completion.
"She's great. ... She's got a hot album. Her album is up there with Justin's album."
Timbaland and Timberlake wrote and produced 10 songs for the new Madonna project, most of which Tim assures are certified hits.
"Ah, man," he gushed. "There's this one song, we taking it back to 'You must be my luck-eee starrrr!' ... Remember 'Ugly' by Bubba Sparxxx? I got a beat similar to that. The hook is no words. It's saying stuff named after coffee - all these different names for coffee - is the hook. ... The name of the song is 'La, La.' Pharrell did a hot one for her too called 'Candy Shop.' She's off the chain."
Will songs about coffee and candy shops do the trick for the declining diva?
You never know.
Prince's song about a guitar landed him major kudos and a fat deal with Verizon.
So anything's possible -- especially for the 49-year-old icon.
After Madge's last record, 'Confessions on a Dance Floor,' failed to generate a memorable hit amidst a flurry of the usual media attention given to her.
Maybe, just maybe with Timbaland and Timberlake at the wheel, she'll have hotter fate.

Tim turns anything he puts his name on to gold so I know this will be good for Madge.

Failed to generate a 'hit'. You have got to be kidding me right? Leave it to the Americans to fail to even reconize a 'hit'. No Confessions on a Dancefloor did not generate a hit in the self absorbed North American market for lets talk 'Globally'; It was a smashing album across the globe. Madonna needs not to be rescued, she just does what she does best; change and evolved with the aid of some stellar producers supporting her. I am pretty bored with the media always try'n to mark her career as dead. It has been done for years yet she still climbs back on top and then the cycle starts over again. Give it a bloody rest, the women has stopped in 25 years! Nor will she no doubt.

Oh this writers just bitter. He will get old, wrinkled and die too. For somone who thinks the diva is declining he clearly has not done his research otherwise he would know her last cd went #1 in 37 countries a record for any artist along with the most successful tour by any female artist. If thats considered declining and getting better with age sign me up. I hate when writers mention Madonna just to bring attentionto there otherwise dull boring bitter articles.

Oh poor tired old Madonna. With record sales of "confessions" being around 40 million worldwide and her tour making more money than any other female artist in history, I'm sure she'll desperately be seeking the approval of her "peers" like Mariah or Whitney. Talk about old AND tired. :)

I don't understand why this article is saying that Madonna didn't get a hit in Confessions On A Dancefloor. That album was her comeback album!!!! Confessions broke the world record by being number 1 in 29 different countries! It won a Grammy for the best Dance/Electronica Album and the first single, "Hung Up" was number one in a record breaking 42 countries. "Hung Up" was a top 10 single in the Billboard Hot 100 Countdown. The United World Charts ranks "Hung Up" as the fourth successful single of all time since 1999 after "Hips Don't Lie". I am extremely disappointed at how false this article is! I think the author of this article, Karu F. Daniels, should publicly apologize for his comments and apologize to Madonna for a calling her a "declining diva" and for saying she didn't produce a hit. AOL Black Voices and Entertainment Newswire should take out this incredibly ridiculous claim!

What? How can anyone say Confessions was not a hit...thats bull...it was massive...
I have to say that as a Madonna fan i was a little surprised and slightly disapointed when i heard that she was doing an album with Timbaland and particularly Justin, they are not in her league, maybe right now they are hot, but ten years they will be forgotten...seriously the will...
I trust Madonna and i am sure she knows what she is doing but i feel disapointed if she does an RnB album, she usually does things others havent done yet, so why is she doing something that JlO AND all the others have done already, but i will wait and see and hopefully be pleasently surprised,,,
But she doesnt need rescuing, she is doing fine...

madonna's declining career? not one memorable hit? Hung up has the record for going to #1 in most countries, 40 in all and sold over 10 million copies worldwide.
Karu F. Daniels you a FOOL man
