He just he claimed the No. 1 position on Billboard's Mastertone chart after being No. 2 for six straight weeks and selling over 1.2 million ring-tones to date. It's quite evident that Hurricane Chris' 'A Bay Bay' is arguably the biggest breakout hip-hop hit of the summer.
To date, the full track has sold 415,000 units and ranks No. 5 and No. 7 on Nielsen SoundScan's Hot Digital and Digital Songs charts, respectively.
The infectious Phunk Dawg-produced single quickly became a national catchphrase with a peak position of No. 7 and No. 11 on Billboard's Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts, respectively. The accompanying video was a staple on BET's 106 & Park, where it recently reached No. 1 on the popular show's countdown.
The 'Ratchet Remix' of the track -- featuring The Game, Baby, Jadakiss, Lil' Boosie, and Angie Locc from Lava House -- is keeping up its hot streak.
The 18-year-old Shreveport, LA (aka "Ratchet City") native will release his debut album, '51/50 Ratchett,' via Polo Grounds Music/ J Records on Oct. 16.

It's about time, Shreveport finally get on the map with the other Dirty South artist. I am really happy for this young man, and I wish him all the best in the future. I am from Shreveport; I understand he and my younger son know each other, and maybe my older son can dance in his next video. Keep your head on right and do the right thing.

I love the song, but I hate hair! Serena Williams would have more base in her voice singing the song. What "Babe" would take him seriously? Maybe that's why he has to say it so much? What ever happened to the "Old School" approach? "Excuse me Miss", show a lot more respeck! If the "Young Bucks" tried it, maybe they wouldn't get rejected so often and go home angry? We wonder why everyone is using such harsh language? They are frustrated! A Bay Bay, am I right?

The song is really hot here in Shreveport, we are showing him a lot of support. Now that he is platinum, he should consider changing the hair !!!

Not really into this "gimmicky" type of rap. The quality of what we hear these days is pretty much that. Everyone has to make a song that has a dance or a little catch phrase, and it's becoming pretty annoying if you ask me. This Soulja Boy stuff has to be at the top of the list.

I think that it is good that Shreveport is coming up in the game, but I think that they can do a lot better than this song maybe the next try will be better than this trash. This is worst then that snap music B/S (D4L). But keep grinding Shreveport and it will happen.
