Get a load of that Jay-Z. The Def Jam Records President topped Forbes magazine's "Hip-Hop Cash Kings" list.
The Roc-A-Wear mogul man raked in a cool $ 34-million smackaroos last year, which secured his spot at number one. 50 Cent followed at number two, earning $ 32-million bucks. Diddy raked in $ 28-million, while Timbaland garnered $ 21 million.
"We're very excited to debut this list of 20 artists who defy the conventional music business model," said Forbes Associate Editor Lea Goldman. "Not only do these musicians share a distinct entrepreneurialism, they also market themselves as global brands, and they have the fame, power and influence to make them a dominating cultural force."
Hip-hop super-producer Dr. Dre reportedly took in $20 million while his blond haired, blue-eyed protégé Eminem garnered $18 million.
Always with a bunch of irons in the fire, Snoop Dogg made $17 million and Kanye West did $17 million, too. Not bad for someone no one ever heard of five years ago.
And the fashion-plate Pharrell Williams and hip-hop hit-maker Scott Storch rounded out the top ten, with $17 million, respectively.

With Jay topping the Forbes list the haters from his old hood will have plenty of negative things to say. Just like those two clowns Dehaven and Calvin Klein. Your own people hate to see you make it congrats Jay.

It just goes to show you if a person is given a chance to do something legitimate and legal, you never know how it'll turn out. For Jay-Z, 50 Cent and the rest, all they needed was a foot in the door to get their piece of the American dream. Big Ups To 'em and I hope young African American males can look at these guys and see they don't have to deal dope to be successful even if that's how you started out !

I'm glad the guy is doing his thing. And I noticed that ever since he started dating Bey, his style of clothing has changed for the better. He looks professional when he needs to, and nice and casual when he's chillin.

If he build a playground in the projects "you people" will never leave. He worked hard to get out of there. You should do the same. Black people are the only ones who live in projects generation after generation. There's a reason why they are called projects. It was originally designed as temporary housing for military workers and their families. Now every Tomasina, Daquan and Shaneequa is laying claim on the place -- decade after decade.

My man JZ holding it down like it's suppose to be held.
I admire him for all the hard work and long hours he had to put into the business to become King of the hill.
I really think he can find someone better suited for his
love life than B. Everybody saying he robbed the crib, B is not 26 but approx 30 something, do the math. I really don't want him to be another Russell Simmon & Kimore Lee, it's better if he don't even go there because it won't last.
I ain't Hating just speaking the truth.
Love you Shawn Carter..
