Not only is he black, have an attitude and uses homophobic rhetoric, Isaiah Washington has the nerve to have bad credit.
What a catch.
Luckily for all you eligible women out there, his wife Jenisa Marie took him off the market long ago because before he hit the primetime jackpot on 'Grey's Anatomy,' he was having some serious cash-flow problems.
Or so said Star magazine.
In a recent issue of the glossy tabloid, a report was published about how the fiery thespian -- of movies such as Spike Lee's 'Get on the Bus,' 'Clocker' and 'Girl 6' -- struggled financially before making (and subsequently losing) his estimated $2.7 million salary.
"He was on the receiving end of a number of lawsuits from creditors looking for missing money,' the story stated about the NAACP Image Award winning actor.
When it rains it pours.
Although the Houston native seems to be on the road to career recovery with his recent casting on the series remake of 'Bionic Woman,' his dodgy financial past has come to light.
According to Los Angeles County Court documents uncovered by Star, the 'Love Jones' actor and his wife were sued for approximately $3,000 by the Beverly Hills radiology group Tower Magnetic. After a court trial, they were found liable and later paid the full amount.
In 2002, top talent agency ICM sued Washington for $25,000 in agent fees for getting him the gig on the movie 'Exit Wounds.' He reportedly only paid half the amount, which landed him in court to pay the rest. After a judge ruled in the agency's favor, the money still wasn't paid -- by a year later.
In 2003, the Ford Motor Credit Company took him to court to recover $8,340. The case was later settled.
And the big whammy came in 2005 when good old Uncle Sam (IRS) reportedly filed a federal tax lien on The Washingtons for an unpaid balance of $41.063 for back taxes. And just like the relentless rottweilers they are, the couple was forced to pay up in full five years later.
Aside from 'Bionic Woman,' Washington will play a Catholic priest in the indie film 'The Least of These.'

When will you guys let up on Isaiah Washington? This media witch hunt is becoming old and very tacky. This article is vindictive and a low blow to say the least.
Making someone' credit history public is despicable and I would like the author of this article to make theirs public as well.
If you did your research properly and had the intergrity to carry out objective reporting you would have found out the legitimate reasons for IW financial difficulties definitely not the least bit dodgy. Isaiah Washington is a American who has seen the ups and downs of life and there is no shame in that. He is at present a great generous philanthropist involved in charity work and building schools for the less priviledged.
Back up off him and look for someone else to pick on "Hollywood media". You guys all stink! Give it up and stop flogging a dead horse! Geez!

Why exactly do we and should we care. Do we really have to continue and join in with the other media. So what, we all make mistake. Leave him and his family alone. I for one will never watch Grey's again.

I agree with the other posters. Leave him alone about his past finances. That was so low to post that information here. Just blame mean and tasteless.

The United States of America owes Billions of dollars to other countries; namely Africa and China. Almost all American adults, including myself, owes someone! this country was built off of debt. Please, don't get me started about reparations! this is a low blow and quite unnecessary attack on Isaiah Washington and his family. He is an excellent actor and i wish him well in all his future endeavors and i even wish well to the actors of Grey's Anatomy. Enough already!

The author of this thread is probably homosexual and therefore, puts the homosexual agenda before his own people.
