Grammy Award winning hip-hop visionary Wyclef Jean has returned to Columbia Records and plans to release his sixth opus, titled 'The Carnival II: Memoirs of an Immigrant,' on Dec. 4.
The disc will mark the Haitian hip-hopper's first full-length album for the label since his third solo album, "Masquerade," entered the Billboard Top 200 at #6 in June 2002.
A decade ago, the former Fugees frontman went triple-platinum with his critically acclaimed debut solo album, officially titled 'Wyclef Jean Presents The Carnival Featuring Refugee All-Stars.'
Wyclef gave his fans their first taste of 'The Carnival II' with the release of 'Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill),' featuring Akon, Lil' Wayne and introducing Niia. Released last month, the single -- available digitally -- rapidly made its first Billboard chart appearance entering the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart at #3.
According to Clef (as he is affectionately known) 'Carnival II' is "a continuation of [his 1997 Top 10 signature hit] 'Gone Till November. I focus a lot on the songwriting."
Collaborating guests for the set will include Paul Simon, Mary J. Blige, T.I., Norah Jones, Serj Tankian (of System Of A Down), and Shakira, among others.
Wyclef produced the entire album with his long-time production partner, Jerry "Wonda" Duplessis, with whom he has worked since the beginning of the Fugees.

Are you crazy dumaine? Of course you can have your personal preferences and are allowed to enjoy the music that you like but to say that he needs other artists to make him interesting is ridiculous. Wyclef is and always will be a dynamic singer, songwriter and entertainer alone or with others. Give him another listen. Even you'll wonder what you were thinking!!!

Don't know very much about rap music. But if it's not filthy and he's not calling women hoes and B-----s I hope he has success with it. Doubly so because he is from Haiti

No disrespect, but Wyclef is always harping on the fact that he's Haitain but he's constantly tryna sound like Bob Marley, who was a Jamaican. Give it up, Wyclef. It's been a wrap for ya has-been ass ever since you dropped the first Carnival CD back in '97.

harping on the fact that he's Haitain is all good because it says alot about him proud of his origin. They are so many good, successful, and excellent physicians, lawyers, artists who have done, are doing excellent job in the usa and yet they feel the need to hide behind the closet because they are not strong or comfortable enough to reveal their identity. more power to you wyclef.
