He's not a name usually associated with political causes but Bobby Brown will reportedly join a long list of hip-hop-centric performers for a concert aiming to raise awareness about the JENA SIX controversy.
The 'My Prerogative' singer (and ex-husband of Whitney Houston) is slated to appear alongside Nick Cannon, Lloyd, Baby Boy, Sean P, Twista, Tank, Jagged Edge, Killer Mike and Hurricane Chris at the "Jena 6 Empowerment Concert," to be held in Birmingham, Alabama on Sept. 29
According to published reports, organizers of the event are hoping it will raise national awareness of the incidents surrounding the case, in which six African-American teens appear to be victims of a racially biased judicial system.

I think that it is great how everyone is coming together in support of the Jena 6. When I read about how the situation escalated and how the students involved were being victimized on www.globalgrind.com I felt the need to research the issue more. Now that stars are coming to the forefront to voice their opinions on the racial injustices faced by these teenagers I hope that the nation can become more aware of the consequences of racism and provide an opportunity for change. I wish his trifling ass was as enthused about paying his child support as he is about this, cuz if I see him in my local paper being dragged off to jail ONE more time for non payment, I'm gonna scream.

I am so proud of all of the Hip Hop community. They are truly heroes who uplift their ghetto brothers and sisters and don't forget about them once they make it. Keep your light shining boys for the whole world to see. Bobby is a great man who just needs to get rid of the negativity in his life.

Come on guys, give Bobby a break, remember, their is always two sides to every story, I'm for him and every other black male living in this country. At a time like this, we sould put aside personal feelings of others and focus on getting those kids out of jail. My question is to the people who wrote negative remarks about Bobby, what are you doing to help?

I am glad that Bobby is getting involved just as long as he doesent go there mis-representing us.
As for the Hip-Hop Community im glad that they are their but im also concerned because white america will and has tried to find any and every excuse to try and justiy their wrongful acts and I'd be willing to be that they will try and make this Hip Hop's fault.
They will try and say that the reason why the young Black Men were so violent(which they were not it was self defense) they will say that it was a result of listening to Hip Hop Music amd they will try to turn us on to Hip- HIp and try to brainwash us and make us forget what the real issue is.
