Though he was quoted spewing homophobic rhetoric in the September edition of Complex magazine, once-hot hip-hopper Ja Rule cleared things up with AOL Music's Spinner blog.
"I was taken out of context," the 31-year-old Murda Inc. rapper (legally known as Jeffrey Atkins) said about remarks he made to the hip-hop fashion magazine about needing "to step to MTV and Viacom and lets talk about all these f---ing shows that they have on MTV that is promoting homosexuality, that my kids can't watch this s---."
"My statement was more about where our mind state is as a people," the pint-sized lyricist continued the clarification to Spinner.
"We're focused on the wrong things -- like, our country is at war right now," he continued. "These things are more of a problem to me. Like another case I just read about -- young ladies being raped by six white men. These are the stories that should be popping up on my TV screen. That's what I was talking about, and somehow it got spun into some other s---."When probed about his stance on homosexuality and gay marriage, he took a more diplomatic approach, admitting that "it's not something that bothers me."
Peculiarly enough, former rap superstar DMX bragged of having proof of Ja Rule being homosexual during their bitter feud from a few years back.
As previously reported by The BV Newswire, Ja Rule's new album -- titled The Mirror' -- is due in stores in November.

J Edger hoover was a closet homosexual who treated other homosexuals with distant and 4 letter words..........The man wore womans cloths behind closed doors. Yet he showed hate too homosexuals..........It reminds me of the Nazi's and their homosexual closet. As along as its fashionable people will peek into that same closet for some downtown boogie closet or not...........

I sure hope the Hip-Hoppers and Rappers wake-up to see how the media/press is on;ly setting them up with these controversial questions, they ONLY ask the males?
They allow our "strong...independent" females to run the world for "fun" and games, while they target oour young men with questions of morality.
Little girls need o see how to be strong, family-rearing, God-fearing ladies. When is the media going to make then accountbale and start asking them questions of nobility, decency, and familyhood?
As a matter of fact, I'll send a copy of this communique` to "Complex" magazine, myself. Personally, I think they know our women try to stay as far away from community-building issues as far as possible, while all the while wanting to blood-suck the peoples' money. We need more than just half-naked dancers, singers and actresses.
We need strong-minded Assata Shakur's, Dr. F. Cress-Welsing's, Julia Hares', Ida B. Wells-Barnett's, Winnie Mandela's, etc...

Dumaine, dude you have issues. Republicans aren't blocking any hate crime laws. What the hell is a hate crime anyway. There are already too many laws on the books as it is. Murder is murder regardless for the reason. You have voluntary manslaughter, first degree, etc... Whether a person likes you or not is irrelevant. If they do a crime against you it just that a crime. It is not the government's job or purpose to control what I or anyone else says about someone. No one has to like you. What they must give you is the respect and the right to live and pursue your happiness. Looks like your spilling some of that hate speech yourself blaming everything on Bush or the Republicans.

Is anyone here so stupid as to believe he was taken out of context? I tell you, reading comprehension is a lost skill nowadays!
He said what he said and he meant it just the way he sounded. There's no way to spin his words to make it mean something else. People are just too gullible nowadays.
(I actually agree with his comments by the way, so I think he's being a weasel now by trying to distance himself from what he said.)
