'Diff'rent Strokes' actor Todd Brides is having a career resurgence – of sorts.
The rehabilitated former TV star, who guest starred on The CW hit series 'Everybody Hates Chris' last season, he is the new host of 'Laugh At L.A.,' a new stand-up and sketch comedy show at Los Angeles' Tatou Supper Club.
According to a rep, the live show will be a cross between 'Chappelle's Show' and 'In Living Color,' with pre-recorded comedy sketches shown between stand-up acts. Some added value: marquee comedians such as 'MADtv's' Debra Wilson Skelton and Jill-Michele Melean, and Alex Thomas are already on board.
"I've been in the entertainment business for more than 20 years, but this is my first time hosting a live comedy show," Bridges told The BV Newswire today. " Recently I've been appearing on a variety of comedy shows, writing, directing and producing film projects, and this is another challenge I've been waiting for in my career. I'm excited for the opportunity to be in front of a live audience, and work with great comedians ...The show will be fun, and most importantly really funny."
Following the fame and fortune of playing Willis Jackson on the hit NBC series 'Diff'rent Strokes' for eight years (1978-1986), Bridges hit rock bottom, leading to drug addiction and legal troubles.
The married 42-year-old father – who was once one of the most sought after child actors of his era – is ready to get back into the swing of things.
'Laugh At L.A.' kicks off Oct. 9.

I was always happy that he got himself together. I always like to see a good comeback. I remember watching him when I was little. Good going ... glad to see he's doing his thing.

I'm proud of Todd. He has dealt with some drama in his life, some self inflicted but he has overcome. Is he perfect, no...but he knows now that he has people who support him in his endeavors. I've met him and his wife Dori who are so sweet and their son is precious...check out what else he's doing in his new life through Christ

I am a fan of Todd Bridges from his glory days as a child actor in all kinds of shows. I remember when I was in Junior High school in the Willowbrook area of L.A., that Todd was filming and he had a great attitude as all of us kids stood around and watched. I'm glad he is doing positive things these days! Just a word of advice though: "The Hair Clinic for men", Brotha gone get yourself some hair implants cause them baldheads ain't for everybody! LoL
