LL Cool J's new album is titled 'Exit 13' and it's expected for an early 2008 release on the storied Def Jam Records label.
Although the chisel-chest, nearly 40-year-old rap icon has previously expressed his displeasure of how things were run at the Jay-Z helmed hip-hop empire, he's remaining positive and hoping for the best for his next album – reportedly his last on the label.
"I think at this point the focus needs to be just me making some great music," LL Cool J told MTV Radio. "Trying to keep it positive. Trying to have some sort of relationship with them that we both can benefit from. Hopefully they can do well and look great. And I can do well and look great. And we can part company as civilized business men. And give the world something great."
Platinum-plated thug rap icon 50 Cent is reportedly co-producing the anticipated project. "For me, I needed to go and work with somebody who really had my best interests at heart," he said about working with the platinum-selling thug rap icon.
April of 2006 saw the release of LL Cool J's 12th Def Jam opus, 'Todd Smith,' (his real name). The set featured guest appearances by Mary J. Blige, 112, Ginuwine, Freeway and Juelz Santana, with production by Timbaland, Pharrell, Scott Storch and Trackmasters, among others.

Karu, why must you refer to 50 cent as a platinum, rapping thug? It was this image that most have embraced and some strive to be, especially in the black community. I can't hate on this brother because he has expanded his role and have become a very smart business man.($100million strong by Forbes)Not too many thugs can vouch for that..L.L. you my boy and I wish you well on your last(hopefully) L.P. Rock the bells, baby.

LL has been in the business 20 years, and he’s working with a businessman, 50 cent who has about five years. LL, it’s time to use your wisdom to gain more control over your rap career.

Derogatory writing. If the intent of this article is to inform, I failed to see it. I had to scroll up to see if it was extracted from AP, CNN, ET or some other out-of-touch-media vein. But even they would have applied a little more sensitivity in describing business men like fiddy and LL. After all this is Black Voices. DAM!! Show some respect.

Let rap go and pick up a book
Love you Kool James...
You Reap What You Sow
A Novel
Jada Lindsay is a single woman living and working as an ER nurse in her hometown of Philadelphia when she meets who she thinks is her Prince Charming one hot summer day. She quickly realizes that fairy tales are for kids. The story begins with Jada’s tumultuous relationship with Aidan Peacock, the son of a preacher. She tells her story of sex, lies and love in her own gripping words which are often flip and straight from the hip. Jada speaks of the love for her grandmother to the contempt that she harbors for her mother. When her relationship with Aidan is ended in front of the entire congregation of Shiloh Christian Church at a New Year’s Eve service, Jada vows to never see him again. But the heart goes where it wants to, and she finds out the hard way…

LL has sold his soul to the devil. He is officially done. 50 cent is a pathetic gimmick rapper and a good manipulator. He capitalized by putting other black people down. White people are just laughing their ass off on our hatred and ignorance. He hated on Ja Rule, then stole his style(rap-r&b). Now all his music sound the same (ex. Follow My Lead/Ridin Music). Come on now people wake up. Maybe Nas was right, Hip Hop is dead. Now everybody wants 2 be a rock star.
