Diddy and Russell Simmons better make room for Irv Gotti – the latest hip-hop mogul to make a splash into the reality TV realm.
As previously reported in Everybody Hates Marcus, the Murda Inc. honcho is the subject of his own reality show. And it's a family affair.
Titled 'Gotti's Way,' the half hour series will premiere Oct. 15 at 10:30 p.m. on VH1.
According to a rep for the network, the show follows Irv Gotti's efforts to resurrect his record label after being acquitted of money laundering charges in Dec. 2005.
While trying to breathe new life into the newly named enterprise, The Inc., Gotti (legally known as Irving Domingo Lorenzo, Jr.) is also juggling his responsibilities as a husband and father of three.
The series promises to provide an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the company (that made platinum-plated stars out of Ja Rule and Ashanti) and the music machine that he is.
The former Def Jam Records executive is currently working with artists such as Vanessa Carlton, Lloyd, and Ja Rule, among others. Ashanti, who he recently revealed he had a sexual relationship with, is not under his auspices anymore but does plan to release her fourth opus, 'The Declaration' via Gotti's Universal Motown deal.
The show will also focus on the raw emotions between Irv and estranged wife, Debbie, by exposing their struggle to mend a severed relationship and make it functional for the sake of their family.

honestly, i almost feel sorry for deb..it a shame that she refuses to live her life..irv will never be the family man she wants, and claiming to do it for the kids is only prolonging the heartache that is already there, and to come...when she finally gets from under his shadow, then she will have broken the cycle and made her mother proud...deb..lead by example, because you have a beautiful daughter watching...she sees your sadness...we all do.

Man, enough of the wannabe reality shows. It's bad enough that white people are a bunch of copy-cats when it comes to evertything, now blacks are following in their footsteps. Can we please learn the word of the day: Creativity!!!
