When you address Juanita Bynum you better refer to her as "Doctor."
Or that's how she prefers to be referenced as.
A media alert announcing a last minute press conference for the Pentecostal Prophetess circulated earlier this afternoon saying that "Dr. Bynum will address the media regarding the current tax issues facing Juanita Bynum Ministries."
Held at the Atlanta gospel radio station WPZE-FM, the 48-year-old self-proclaimed "new face of domestic violence" wanted to face the music in regards to reports that implied her money was funny.
Earlier this week, Ware County Tax Commissioner Steve Barnard said this week the property owned by her ministry would be auctioned off next month if Bynum didn't pay more than $33,000 in property taxes.
Today, the Chicago native said that all those taxes have been paid, adding that she wants to turn the property into a spa for women and that her lawyers told her it could be considered a tax-exempt religious building.
"It didn't work out that way...So be it," the tell-it-like-it-is televangelist said.
What she didn't say was whether she planned to charge women to visit the spa, whether it would be an overnight facility or the size of the building where the spa would be housed.
The near 7000-square-foot house sits on more than 23 acres. Bynum's Waycross-based ministry bought the building Aug. 18, 2006, tax records indicate.
The county tax commissioner said he had received a check earlier for $33,904.15 from New Light Church World Outreach in Houston, the Associated Press reported. However, that the property technically remained set for auction on Nov. 6, he added.
"It's not paid off until the check clears the bank," he said, noting he expects to know next week whether the check clears.
In other related news, the tax drama isn't holding Bynum back from releasing her new music project.
Her publicist confirmed to The BV Newswire that 'Juanita Bynum: Unplugged' will be released in November via Flow Records. Recorded in "High Definition" at a small Atlanta church, the nearly 2 hour DVD is comprised of candid interviews, anointed, uncut performances from her latest hit opus 'A Piece of My Passion,' and her trademark dynamic ministering!
If this new project is anything like the I've witnessed recently on YouTube.com, it should be thoroughly enthralling.
The record label has pledged to donate a portion of the proceeds from each DVD sale to organizations fighting against Domestic Violence.
Shortly after being allegedly assaulted by her estranged husband Bishop Thomas Weeks, III, Bynum announced she will take a stand against mental and physical abuse by lending her support to a myriad of causes.
At presstime, an organization has not yet been named.

I am a Christian woman who have personally suffered both physical and emotional abuse and let me say unless you have gone through this there are so many things that you could never understand. I can say that while I do not know all of the details, nor do I care to , I do feel in part where Juanita is coming from. While I would never wish that she and her husband would have gone through this ordeal, I am most grateful for her openness to use it as a way of exposing this great demon that so many of us encounter in secret. I understand that God will use one person's situation to help others. I believe that Juanita's situation will bring hope to many who are suffering in silence. I also know that in sharing her abuse openly in the effort of helping others that God will bring her strength and healing.
I think that all of the people who are being (Christians)judgemental have forgotten what God has done for them and also the The Word tells us that "there is none with out sin" Let us lay down our stones. There is no man or woman of God or of the world that is perfect. Additionally we as people have a way of placing people on pedestals and when things happens in their personal lives as they do we start trampling them and speaking poorly of them rather than lifting them up in prayer and thanking God for all that they have blessed our lives with in the past. Who are the real hypocrites (we are because people like Juanita knows who they are and what their live is). We need to get out of the fantasy world and start seeing people as being human and stop elevating them above ourselves. Our attitudes causes our own set backs, lets not be set back with the issue at hand and follow the leading of the great woman of God, for if she is able to redirect her life to the leading of God we should be able to follow His direction through her life. I pray to God that in the end His Glory in her life and ordeal will be revealed and the He will turn her scars into stars. I know this is possible for God has already done this in my life. God Bless Juanita.

After reading a large percentage of the comments, I have a greater understanding why so many women who live a life of abuse on all levels do not go public about it. My God you people are so judgmental and harsh, you add insult to injury. you divert the real issue at hand and hold to title and money.
I wonder how many of you are living a financially clean life, owing no credit card debt, not claiming your tithes and goodwill givings on your taxes (just thing of it, we give gifts and then want to get back the money we spend on it back from the government-seriously people let us look at out selves). I am glad that I was not a celebrity when I was going through my abuse of because I was not as strong as Juanita and you all may have lead me to end my life with all the guilt you would have placed on me. I do not know any woman who married to be beaten physically or emotionally but things change and we like Junita needs to learn how to change and adjust with them. In the words of A. R. Bernard "Life is about entering and leaving. We live lives on levels and arrive at stages. Each stage takes us to a new level of knowledge, authority, and responsibility. This requires a deepening of our character. As we leave each level and enter the next God opens our eyes to see clearly the path that He has chosen for us." Life is about change ands we should not persecute people when they change and we choose to stay stagnant. I do not believe that Juanita is not a person of her word but rather that as she grows in the Word and in her relationship with God she is being changed and redirected and because we are not in it with her many view her changing her mind about thing she stated or believed in wrongly. I do not think that there is any of us who have not at one point or another in our life believed strongly in something and later experienced a change of mind/ heart. Additionally we should not be blaming Juanita or any one else for following them, that is a personal choice. If we are truly obeying the word of God it tells us that Jesus is the only way. Now if we choose Juanita's way, Paula's way or any other way it is our fault because we need to be reading and seeking God's way for ourselves not following after any one else. We all need to take responsibility for our own actions and stop blaming any one else. Many of you refer to Juanita as being a fake, but forgot that you were with her so what does that say about you.
This woman gave me hope in not only getting out of an abusive relationships and marriage and find myself but she helped me to gain a greater relationship with God and to not be ashamed of my past but to allow God to use it to help me and others and I will not condemn her for that even if she went contrary to her teachings because it made me a better person in the world and in Christ. (I can not say that I am her fan, but I can say that I am her sister in Christ)
I believe that gleaming is a power or singles and widows in that no one person helps you through but a little of this corner and a little of that corner you are able to come up with a field of your own. If one person was enough then we would not need two to provide the very structure of our life. Let us not blame others for our own short comings. Juanita is dealing with hers and we should deal with ours. Prayer and the power of God is delivering her and it will do the same for our lives. She is still stranding and doing so strong, Praise God!!! That gives me hope, hope to continue, hope to endure, hope to help, hope to stand against the negativity that I know will one day come my way as I continue to grow in God and in that things that He is calling me to. Stay Strong Juanita, you know that God is walking beside you and He will not leave you nor forsake you. You are His sheep and He is your Shepherd.

who has never done wrong cast the first stone. I have also been in an abusive relationship,I have keept slient about it for a time and all it did for me is eat me up! I need someone that has been through the same as me to testify that they have made it through. It wasn't the church that helped me and my kids it was Jesus!people will turn their back on you the minute you fail, but God loves and forgives forever!
Juanita is human just like the rest of you,if she is not allowed to fail then neither are you.WE all fall short of the Glory, when we do we are forgiving. You need to re examine yourself if you are knocking her due to money then that is the root of your evil, and if you judge her then you will be judge.Read your bible for real.you are the cause of snares in the body of Christ. God is coming for the true Church with out spot or blimish. Is that You?When you are abused you want out, and if you got to expose them so be it.I revealed my devil what is in the dark will come to light. That's of God!
