Just like T.I., rappers RZA and Common are world renowned and much respected among the hip-hop community.
They both also co-star alongside the jailed rapper in the upcoming Denzel Washington/Russell Crowe epic 'American Gangster' – which opens on Nov. 2.
"We all gotta realize that we have to grow up as men, and the things we did as boys can't be done anymore," RZA told The BV Newswire, in relation to T.I.'s recent arrest and imprisonment for machine gun charges.
"Not only are we men in age and maturity but we are also men of stature and everything that we do is being watched and we have to recognize that," the Wu Tang Clan co-founder continued. "One of my security guards said 'Don't you ever buy a gun, because you can afford all the security,'" he shared before I interjected that the price of a gun is far less cheaper than security detail.
"Not when the results are like this, it's nowhere near cheaper," he argued. "You have to have a little foresight."
"I don't know the situation with T.I. and every man is innocent until proven guilty," the Staten Island native said, adding, "I actually think he's a good dude. I don't believe that he really had anything to do with this because he doesn't seem that kind of guy. He wasn't that kind of guy when I met him."
Believe it or not, Common -- legally known as Rashid Lonnie Lynn -- plays T.I.'s father in the Ridley Scott-helmed film. The Chicago-reared recent chart-topper also shared his disbelief of the machine gun charges that the Atlantic Records rapper -- legally known as Clifford Harris, Jr. --is facing. "I don't believe what they accused him of what he did. I just don't," he said.
"He's a good guy, a very good guy... anybody can say that 'this guy did this and this guy did that' but if we don't know what the true story we can't give a solid comment," he added.
Common even sent some advice out to T.I. -- who pleaded not guilty on the weapons charges and was ordered to be detained for another week: "Continue to pray and know that God is with him. Know that He knows what the truth is and the truth is going to allow [you] to get out and be alright."
Defense attorneys for the Grammy Award winning Atlanta hip-hop superstar asked a federal judge to release the rapper on $2.2 million bond and allow him to have monitored home confinement while he awaits trial on weapons charges.
Indicted by a federal grand jury Oct. 17 on weapons charges, including possession of machine guns, the 27-year-old Atlanta native reportedly faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each count.

I think all of the Wu Tang Clan has grown into mature young men and I am sooooooooooooo very proud of them all! Including Method Man!!!!!!!!!!! They all didn't allow the hype of the business destroy them and they all have been staying out of trouble!!!!!!!! As for Rza comments I commend them for the comments! Because they are trying hard as hell to destroy hip-hop! As for common always a pleasure to read something intelligent from an intelligent brother!!!! May God continue to bless all of you!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who have not read Willie Lynch, this is something that all Black Americans should read. After I read it, it made a lot of sense. We are still letting our people down and ourselves. We think that we don't need each other nor support our fellow Man or Woman when it comes to business. We woulod rather go out and make the others richer by spending our money in their stores. Why not help out fellow man and support them. We can't and we won't/ Why? Because we do not know how to help our fellow man because of jealously. We can't stand to see our Black Brothers or Sister doing well. I know that I will catch a lot of mess but I am going to say it anyway. We see other races. like the Koreans, the Mexicans, the India, people all working together fin order to make a better dliving for themselves and family. We as wormen go to the nail shop and let them do our nails and feet. Yet, we are too stupid to learn how to do nails and open our own business. I have my own business and I do work hard at it. I want to work for myself rather than working to make the someone else richer. It's time to wake upf My Beautiful Black Men and Women. Stop dishing out the "I can't" and start doing. Don't talk about it, be about it.

If you don't know a person(s) personally you only know what you see. I just happen to be a T.I fan. I like his music as well as in film. However, i don't KNOW HIM. So, i can't cased down any judgement. good or bad. I hope like i hope for the 100's of 1000's of incent black men. that he did'nt do it. & let him go. but, we are not perfect people & this is not a perfect world. To all my black men locked up. Hold your head.

I actually liked the comments from Common and RZA. It's true that alot of people need to GROW UP and none of us really know what went down if we were not there.

Sometimes not matter how sucessful you get there are some things that are harder to leave behind than others. we all have fallen short ya heard. But who are we to judge others my prayers go out to TI and TIP. I am an eternal fan not matter what the good and the bad. Mistakes make us human forgiving makes us divine. TI already has his "judge and jury" now he needs his family. So I love you TI like a sister loves her brothere and you have my prayers God Bless.

Every person should read the willy lynch story then you may have a better understanding of why it is so important to read things keep up with society no matter how painful things maybe and always always always keep GOD first You all that believe and walk and faith and not by sight already know your purpose and what your waking up for on a day to day basis. This world is not the world you ache for. The kingdom hereafter is what i ache for. The unfeeling can not be forced to understand what they don't understand, and the unfaithful are of this world and it shall exist until the savior returns in the mean time let thy will be done to me that means when i awake in the morning my concerns is solely his will and the things that occur each day in my life is his will and that is just the way it is for me. Now point being you have all the saying in the (world), but he has all the saying in is will be done. God bless the world I pray that daily and then i pray that he continue to bless me to do his will and not mine of the flesh.

RZA is so cool. Girls who like him should be aware of this. I have seen his photo on a celebrity and millionaire dating site named searchingmillionaire.com.
Seems he is a certified millionaire there.

I have to agree with Robin, we all have choices. I'm 43 year old black male, and my father was one of the largest drug dealers in the city. I choose not to follow that path.

This blog is not about Denzel...and as far as him bein an influence on T.I. That young man is 27 years old and I don't believe he needs to be influenced. He is on the other hand innocent until proven guilty. So all the negetivity doesn't matter. Because they goin try to get what ever money these rappers and wanna be gansters got. Keep them from getting rich. Let'em make the money and then take it away. He's gettin to big.
