"This Nigg** album is bigger than an album to me. This is for my daughter to say, 'Damn, my pop really was a man.' And when I have more kids, 'They going to say he was a man.' So that inspires them to be real in their life, and that's all I'm trying to pass on."
-- Celebrated hip-hop lyricist Nas on the proposed controversial title of his forthcoming Def Jam Records album. (MTV Radio)

The sad irony is as we are witnessing the best of what we have fought and died for over the last 300 years with the campaign of Senator Barack Obama here comes NAS to remind us how many still have a slave mentality. Glorifying a word that reflects our pain and suffering shows that ignorance and sickness comes in different forms. His supporters (e.g., Jay-Z & Snoop Dogg) are as mentally crippled as he is. It is time for a civil war of nonviolent resistance within the African American community to rid our community of such people and ignorance. We could start by asking institutions like BET and Black Voices to stop featuring people like NAS as if they are someone to honor. Enough is enough. He and the others have to pay a price for their disrespect and dishonor of an entire people.

You don't need an album titled Ni**a for your child to consider you a man. Be responsible, make wise choices, treat the mother of your kids with respect and always be there for your kids. That's what makes you a real man.

NAS, "Have You Gone Completely Mad"? I'm A fan of your music; but "I Can Not" and "I Will Not" support your current thinking! Please Don't label yourself in this way. At first, I tried to understand where you where coming from. However; I Simply Don't Understand Your Thinking. "You Are A Man". "Drop This Title That Labels You AS Something Far Less Than A Man"!

I support Nas 100% Stop censoring Art. I believe he has the right to name his album whatever he wants to name it. I live in a world full of idiots! All you critics haven't listened to the album or the message behind it and you are already passing judgment! I'll be the first to buy that album

Call me Nig_a, but only if you are an African-American. Call me Nig_er or Nig_a and be of any other race and I'll have to get my gun out. Just want to make sure I'm gettin ya bro. Hope no hispanic, asian, or white kids try to ask for your CD, cuz they might get shot.

What does that mean NAS? Are you selling out so you can make money so you can support your family. Is that what you mean by being a man for your kids?

I believe Nas is an intelligent black man who has a reason for titling his album in such a way. I personally do not agree with the word -any forms, nigga included- but I believe he is trying o educate some people on the word and its history. If not that, then he is going to use the word so it will have a positive effect on people. I have faith that Nas will be able to do that. Stay positive my people. It takes a man to address such a controversial subject without backing down. How many of you have heard the album to say he is using it in a bad way, or he is doing something to say the word is not cool, and addressing it as that in his album, being the reason he titled it in such a way.
