Juanita Bynum has an uncanny way of putting things into perspective.And because of that, the revered televangelist has built an ever-expanding loyal following through her various religious endeavors.
When the Chicago native and former hair dresser, flight attendant, welfare recipient, drug offender and gold selling recording artist was allegedly attacked by her estranged husband Bishop Thomas Weeks, III on Aug. 21 during a near fatal physical altercation in an Atlanta hotel's parking lot, Bynum's visibility increased by the ten-fold.
Mainstream media outlets helped galvanize an insatiable public interests in the woman who is officially known as "Prophetess Juanita Bynum."
She, in turn, became the self-proclaimed "new face of domestic abuse" as the legal travails of her and her husband entered the public zeitgeist. Her savvy PR campaign – with stops on 'The Tom Joyner Morning Show,' 'Good Morning America,' 'Star Jones Show' and a series of press conferences – increased her mainstream celebrity.
Now comes an "exclusive" two-part interview with Essence magazine, where Bynum breaks her silence.

On the Attack:
"And then he just grabbed me, and he grabbed me around my throat and threw me to the ground. I said, "Oh, my God, my head!" because the whole sky was spinning. And when I turned around, that's when I got the first kick. I screamed out, "Please don't kill me!..."
On Why She Stayed in the Marriage:
"I don't want anybody to think I was stupid for staying; I stayed because of who I was-I had to be careful. My thoughts were, I can't get a divorce. What would people say? How would they view me? I just felt like I needed to pray more. And I did, and it did get better. We went three years without him getting physical, but then the verbal rage would still be there."
On Her New Mission:
"When people can see where you came from and see what you are today and know looking at where you came from and know that there is no real legal reason why you should even be left standing and you're still standing, that is when God gets the glory. That's when people say there must be a God somewhere. That's where my stand is right now."
Part one of the interview is slated to run in the December issue, followed by Part two in January.
Later this month,'Juanita Bynum: Unplugged' will be released via Flow Records. The DVD project boasts candid interviews, performances from her latest album 'A Piece of My Passion,' and her trademark dynamic ministering.

I believe it's Weeks-last name. Unless there is a tape, only three people who know the real truth, Juanita,ex-husband and most importantly,
God! I do not condone domestic violence of any kind. I agree with one comment, if he were going to beat her, why do it outside? Was he provoked once outside? God wants us to respect everyone. The problem with the Body of Christ today is that we are caught up into looking for signs and wonders. Always looking for someone to give you a word. I am not a prophetess, but I will prophecy this: Open the Word of God,i.e. the Bible and He will speak to you as long as He has your attention. Stop running behind these people giving them your money in return for jets, cars, houses, and jobs. They're too good to take a regular airplane, but we must. Wake up, people!God said if you're faithful to Him, He will show himself faithful to you. Believe that! We are in the time where God is exposing those who say they're his, yet trying to take His glory. We as a people place these bishops, pastors and women of God so far above us and even themselves that it grieves the spirit of God. God said "I am a jealous God." "I will not share my glory with man." Granted, some of these men and women of God start out humble, but when people begin to seek after them for a "word" the focus is taken off God and placed on man, they weaken consequently, losing themselves to a false "form". That's when God says, enough! I respect those who God give titles. First and foremost, I revere the true living God! Go back to your firs love, people. Pray for those who have fallen away to the lusts of the world. Return to Him who is not like mortal man, he can't ever fail. Pray for restoration of the church.

Don't be alarmed at the happenings, God still considers the righteous righteous, even when he falls seven times. The Master will make them both to stand, they are both His sheep and only before Him do they rise or fall. Let the wise be instucted!

April, 2007, God said that there were secrets hidden that would be revealed, and that it would shock us. In the house of God, judgement start's at home, in the house of God. God deals in truth, and truth only, to beleive you can keep thing's hidden is foolish. You cannot protray yourself to be someone or something else and expect God to go along with the cover-up. God also warns to touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm, this is in word or deed. This is a warning, and if you don't know or understand, it is better to not say anything against His anointed. In the proven past, God's warning's have come to pass, and so will this one. This is not the last or the only secret that will be exposed in the churches or the world, but remember, it is God that is doing it and He is allowing it to happen for a reason, we all need to take heed instead of judgement, it does not belong to us. Juanita has been tested, and proven to be a true women of God, and God loves her and will continue to protect her from all that would bring harm, in word or deed. Majority of us and the world never knew that Thomas Weeks existed, until he married Juanita, but again it is up to God to judge and He judges his own. Watch, God word's never fail!!!!!

The enemy is fighting the both of you very hard because at Global Destiny Ministries you two helped many couples reconciled and solved their differences. The Anointing on the both of you two is very powerful and the enemy can't stand a power-house couple. I pray that God will surround you two with the right saints of God that will pray you through and that you two will not listen to people who are being used by the enemy. I pray the Lord will turn this around for your good, and that this will become the most powerful testimony for couples that go through hardship in their marriage. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that you two will be spirit lead to the right spiritual guidance counselling. i dont want to believe dat some of this comments are becos some pple hav personal beefs for Juanita and her husband.if nt i expect d christian community to be prayerful and critizing them,they ar nt angels although we expect so mmuch from them.pls pray for them do nt condem.we ar all accountable to God .do nt rejoice over them.but see it as an attact from the pit of hell.

In this world we will have trials and tribulation but soon God will deliver us from it all. Trials are there to make your faith stronger - only if you walked a mile in someones shoes can you comment. Satan tries to sift us but Jesus promised he is praying for us and thats all that matters. My prayers are with those who are striving to serve God remember only those who are faithful to the end will be saved. Just remain faithful

People please leave God anoint ones alone. Prophetess Juanita Bynum is and always will be one of God chosen ones. God is the head of her life, and he has favorited her with so many talents. Dr. Bynum has not done anything wrong. She has not broken any laws by speaking out are appearing on tv. Juanita is trying to help others who may be going through some of the same situations. Juanita has not slandered her husband in any way. She has always spoke of his brilliant, and of him being a man of God who simpley made a mistake. The people who do not no Prophetess Bynum. Her whole ministry base has always been about her life story. This is nothing new she has just jumped on to get attention. It unfortunate that these events has accursed. Juanita has admitted that the both of them is responsible for the break down of their marriage. To the people who are hating on Juanita for being who she is do not really no her. I feel you people jumped on the wagon after the incident. Prophetess Bynum has not changed; she has always been a wonder and a true light in christ. Juanita does not have a pacific church. She has always went around the world given the messages God has favorite in her life. People buy her dvds, tapes, and books because they love and respect character and her honesty. Dr. Bynum is incredible in christ, and she certianly has an anointing. To the people who do not like her for what ever reason go on and hate. Dr. Bynum is not going anywhere. Prophetess has been preaching for twenty five years with the same format. God made her name great and he will keep it great. The woman who was beat down out side of an Atlanta hotel. She was chocked, pushed down to the groung, stomped, and kicked all about her body even in between her legs. The whole beating was seen by a witness; who had to come to her aide. People please wake up there are so many leaders who are hiding behind their positions. There are more and more females who are having to take the blame for the men. Weeks should have came clean months ago. He is the one drug this thing throughout the media with slander and lies. The act he showed was very wrong for any leader of a flock. The attack he do on his wife was a violent felony, and he should have done some jail time. I say this because this was not his first time putting his hands on a woman in a violent manner. You would have thought that he learned from his first marriage. Weeks also abused his girlfriend in his church for mishandeling money. Mrs. Roberts has been a church member of his for ten years. She moved to Atlanta from Washington to help him run the church in Atlanta. Juanita had several run in with her that was not good. Hollywood needs God there to, and besides he said to go in to all the world; just do not be of the world. God is using Juanita Bynum in the manner he see fit.

Christians, As I read the comments that have been posted on this site I cant begin to tell you the shame I feel that God " chosen" are melting into a vicious melting pot of hate and discouragement. This situation with the Weeks is somthing so wide accross our nation that has been happening for YEARS. Many women and Men have died from this. Our God is awesome god and makes no mistakes. Sometimes he has to use those that are in the light to send a message. How many times have you heard the Weeks give the Lord permission to " use them". We say these words often and many of us are not ready for what god needs us to do. Somtimes we are left faced with embarrasement. god chose them because they can handle the afterflow. But I am here to tell you a message, God is not done yet. Personally i believe the Weeks are suffering for us all. Just wait for the Ministry that will follow this situation. So dont be too quick to judge; its not our place. This couple has been chosen to help get this madness come to a stop. I heard Mrs. Weeks preach on "preaching about somthing you have not exsperienced"Well now she has exsperienced this situation . They are strong enough to hold on to Gods unchanging hand. As long as they can look up they can get up. Just wait. Just pray that Gods will be done. God bless you and your marriage, and your family.
