Ne-Yo has been informed that his services are no longer rendered for R. Kelly's 'Double Up' Tour, which kicked off Nov. 14 in Columbus, Georgia.According to a statement issued by the Def Jam Records crooner, he was informed on Nov. 19 that he is being permanently removed from his supporting slot – despite overwhelming positive reviews received from "entertainment reporters,
music critics, bloggers, fans, and concert goers."
A spokesperson for the tour told Billboard that the reasoning behind Ne-Yo's abrupt exit is due to a "contractual dispute."
Ne-Yo's camp seems to think otherwise.
"The fans were really feeling his performances," his business partner and manager Tango said. "He's good; maybe he's too good - that's the problem."
Ouch."I don't understand their actions because I was rehearsing, doing media, promoting the tour, and performing," Ne-Yo added. "In my opinion, I was doing everything possible to make the tour a success. I love being on stage in front of fans because of the immediate feedback you get. You know right away if they are feeling you; and they were really feeling our show."
Kelly, who has a trial date pending for 14 counts of child pornography next spring, has gone through a state of influx in his own camp lately. His longtime publicist Regina Daniels issued a statement last week saying that she no longer reps the 'I Believe I Can Fly' singer after he crossed the line "personally" and "professionally."Her husband, influential Chicago-area black music mogul George Daniels -- who managed Kelly -- has also disassociated himself..
And let's not forget the last time he attempted a tour with another popular Def Jam artist; 2002's joint jaunt with hip-hop mogul Jay-Z turned into a full scale media spectacle that even ended in a physical altercation -- and litigation.
Meanwhile, Ne-Yo – who performed with label-mate Rihanna on the 2007 American Music Awards – used his free time wisely.
Yesterday, the 'Because of You' singer joined 'Heroes' star Hayden Panettiere at the Ronald McDonald House of New York City to celebrate World Children's Day, honoring five everyday heroes from around the world.
In addition to working with Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson on her forthcoming debut music project, Ne-Yo's collaboration with Celine Dion appears on her new opus 'Taking Chances.'
"The Double Up Tour," also featuring Keyshia Cole and J. Holiday, is due to play The Big Apple area this weekend.
UPDATE: Concert promoter Leonard Rowe, issued a statement on Nov. 21 mandating that "contrary to previously published reports, R. Kelly exerted no influence upon Leonard Rowe's decision."
"From a business perspective, it would have been extremely difficult for me to continue under this cloud of uncertainty," he said. "Unfortunately it was decided that in the best interest of all involved, since I was unable to receive the fully-executed contract, I had no other alternative but to release Ne-Yo from the tour."
"We are currently surveying the availability of other artists in order to fill this void."

ALTHO, I AM A HUGE FAN OF R. KELLY AND KEYSHIA COLE AS WELL AS NE-YO BOTH R. KELLY AND KEYSHA WHICH ROCKED THE CONCERT. HAVING NE-YO IN THE CONCERT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE ICING ON THE CAKE. I THINK NE-YO YES IS VERY VERY MUCH TALENTED AT WHAT HE DOES. HIS WRITING SKILLS SAYS IT ALL. WELL, WHATEVA THE REAL REASON BEHIND HIM BEING EXITED FROM THE TOUR, I SAY THINGS HAPPEN FOR A REASON. AND YES NE-YO SHOULD START HIS OWN TOUR. HE CAN INVITE DONNELL JONES, JAGGED EDGE, REMY MA. THAT WOULD BE A FANTASTIC TOUR THERE.
AMEN

I AGREE BEANS THERE WAS TOO MUCH TAWKING FROM KELLS AND HIS BOY. THE SHOW IN NEWARK J. HOLIDAY WAS ON STAGE FOR 5 MINS AND THAS IT. PERHAPS KELLS SHOULD HAVE REPLACE NE-YO WITH A RAPPER TO FILL IN THE GAP BECAUSE KELLS SHOW WAS GREAT BUT JUST TOO LONG.

who the hell is kelly roberts I think what you had to say is the dumbest thing i've ever heard. R.kelly is a primadonna pedophile who has been allegedly kicked off his own tour i.e best of both worlds II. I think ne-yo was kicked off the tour because ne-yo was outshining him because he can sing and dance he can interact with the audience without grinding all over the stage wich seems to be the only dance move that r.kelly has in his repitoire. What it all boils down to is that ne-yo was outdoing r.kelly on his own tour and this was his one and only opportunity to stick it to one the best showstoppers of our time jay-z. Someone needs to tell r.kelly jealousy will get him nowhere he's aging soon he will be too old to be singing about the things that he usually does and nobody will want to see his old butt bumping and grinding.

THANK YOU LIA, IM LEAH BY THE WAY, BUT YOU HIT IT ON THE NOSE, NE-YO AND KESHIA ARE BOTH TOO DAMN GOOD FOR HIM! WHATS UP WIT THIS FOOL RUINING CONCERTS (REMEMBER THE JAY-Z CONCERT INCIDENT). I THINK KESHIA AND JAY HOLIDAY SHOULD WALK OUT ON THAT HATING ASS NEGRO IN SUPPORT OF NE-YO JUST LIKE "R" WALKED OUT ON JAY Z, BECAUSE HE SELFISH, AND IF HE DID IT TWICE, HE'LL DO IT AGAIN FO SHO! KELLS DONT WANT TO SEE NOBODY ELSE GET MONEY, COOL, GO INVITE SOME WHITE FOLKS TO JOIN YOU SO WHEN YOU FEELING LIKE BEING A SELFISH ASSHOLE, IT WONT EFFECT YET ANOTHER BLACKMANS POCKET, NOT THAT NEYO IS HURTING FOR ANYTHING BECAUSE HE'S NOT! AND FOR ALL KELL FANS WHO TRY TO KICK IT LIKE NEYO AINT NOBODY, I ADVISE YOU TO DO YOUR RESEARECH, BECAUSE I GUARANTEE YOU HE WROTE AT LEAST ONE OF YOUR, YES YOUR, FAVORITE SONGS. DO YOUR RESEARCH MY PEOPLE! PLEASE!

I was really looking forward to seeing Neyo on the tour because he is an entertainer. The boy sings and dance and that's what I look for when going to a concert (an all around etertainer.) R Kelly needs to rethink his decision and add Neyo back on the tour because had I known this I would not have purchased tickets. Keyshia Cole has a different style and I am feeling her music lyrically but more is needed for this tour. I personally feel that R.Kelly grew jealous of Ne-yo's set and the response he received from the fans.
