Holy Toledo!!!Even being on television serving up dish to a middle aged, mostly female, mainstream demographic every single day couldn't stop Whoopi Goldberg's radio show from being pulled off the airwaves.
This season's new co-host of ABC's long running gabfest 'The View' may have developed a reputation over the years from engaging the common man with her comedic timing, political rants and acting chops – but that didn't make the muster on New York's Clear Channel Communications radio station WKTU, where her ambitious morning show , 'Wake Up with Whoopi' debuted July 2006.
The family-friendly program with upbeat music, light comedy and heavy lifestyle talk – a sharp comparison to other shows the airwaves – didn't go over to well with The Big Apple.With no warning, the show didn't broadcast on Nov. 28. Instead, a local jock filled in.
According to the New York Daily News, the Premiere Radio-distributed syndicated radio program never found an audience to crack the Top 10 in the city.
"I'm still on the radio," the Academy Award winning actress of 'Ghost' said in an interview yesterday. "Just not in New York." She has a remaining 20 months on her contract and said she plans on fulfilling the obligation.
In the meantime, her daily grind at 'The View' keeps her away from being tied to movie sets, but she is planning a one-woman stage show about the legendary black female comedian Moms Mabley.

I am first of all a red neck ,neathal, white male American Trucker bald and over 46, 17 years married with 5 kids, that loves his "Whoopi" the jackass at 103.5 in NYC dont know there heads from there 4th point of contact(ASS), She and here team made my stressful day more happy, Driving an 18 wheeler pettleing freight throughout NYC and the North East America. It was a program that I could listen with my family, Not some pencil head with a tiny penis talking about his dream with his imagination.
I understand that they dont like an honest black woman with attuide.I DO!!!!!!!! You jackass in NYC. You are making a bigger mistake because now I dont listen to your radio station at all, I will have some one tape her or wait for her to MP3 it or just listen to the country channel or maybe she will go to satilight.
In closing you, I cant spell, but the leadership at 103.5 You are lower then rat shit in the deapest hole in NYC, hope you turn comes with love!!!!.
They will never hold down a professional, lovable person like Ms. Goldberg, I wish her the best she is a role model for all people in the proper manors and politeness in dealing with all people, Maybe 103.5 should listen to past shows.
Love ya Girl;

I'm another redneck white boy who loves Whoopi. Whoopi keeps it honest and respectful. She's intelligent, down-home classy, and hella funny. I might not agree with all her views, but I respect the way she delivers them. Whoopi, I am your loyal fan. Screw NYC radio! Whoopi, I know yer a city girl, but you are always welcome in Humboldt County, California. --Big John

I am one who thinks that Whoopi's show was borrrring and that WKTU never should have pulled the previous guys from the radio. Goumba and Baltazar were funny and their show was something I used to like while going to work. And I love Whoopi too; just not on the radio....sorry.

Damn, I didn't even know she had a radio show that was on air in NYC. Had I known I would have tuned in every day. I have always been a fan of Whoopi's and since she has joined The View, I like her even more. She's real and honest without being rude. She is just what that show needs.
