I want to inspire self-esteem and a positive attitude and give my support to other women because no one else can drag us down like we do ourselves."

queen latifah is, infact, amazing. the point here is that she is discussing herself as a positive role model for young girls. what about young gay girls and boys; especially in black culture? discrimination of homosexuals in the black community is so pervasive. wouldn't it be amazing if she, as a respected artist and human being, would stand up and say, "yes, i am" for all the young black, gay kids out there that really need a positive and powerful homosexual BLACK role model? love to you latifah.

Are wedding bells about to toll for Big Babe Queen Latifah and her long-time companion and personal trainer Jeanette Jenkins? Rumor has it that royal fence sitter Queen Latifah popped the question to her purported lady love.
A nasty little buzz that began on the gossip blog, MediaTakeOut.com, asserts that the Queen not only asked juicy Jeanette to say “I do,” but that Queen’s planning to announce her Queerness to the world!

Who cares if the Queen is gay? What does it really matter - as long as she's happy! Check out her new jazz album, indicative of the ultimate re-invention!

I heard her sing for the first time and she has a great voice. Rapping is for people who really can't sing and she doesn't have to do that. By the way, we already knew you were gay!!
