Move over Beyonce! Halle Berry, look out.
Juanita Bynum is the latest black celebrity gracing the cover of Essence magazine – and she has major plans to evolve beyond the scope of being regarded as just a Pentecostal Prophetess.
That's no offense to the holy rollers!!!
For the January 08' edition of the best selling black women's magazine, the popular televangelist opens up to lead Essence features writer Denene Milner in part two of her explosive interview about life after her alleged abuse – at the hands of her estranged husband Bishop Thomas Weeks, III last summer.
"The drive has become making Juanita whole and taking it one day at a time," the 48-year-old Chicago native stated said.
"It's still very early in my situation, and as you know, it's not over," she declared. "When I'm asked questions about my husband's case, it really becomes almost difficult for me to focus on that direction. The focus is so on repositioning my life."Repositioning her life is not only the $200,000 she's raising to build a threshing floor (to talk to God on contributor's behalf – see video), but to also go full throttle in territory that the aforementioned Destiny's Child frontwoman and Academy Award winning beauty have already conquered with their respective talents.
In addition to publishing her next book, tentatively titled 'Accessing the Power Within,' Essence reports that the gold-selling gospel recording artist is returning to the studio, this time as a producer.
Bynum also recently signed a deal to distribute her own line of candles and cosmetics.
And she just wrapped up her feature film debut with a role in the upcoming film adaptation of Vy Higginson's legendary musical 'Mama, I Want to Sing!,' which stars Ciara, Patti LaBelle, Lynn Whitfield, Hill Harper and Kim Porter.
Bynum is also in the midst of planning a reunion conference in Atlanta tied to her now-famous "No More Sheets" sermon.
Her bouncing back and doing so much is proof positive that what some of her detractors are putting out in the universe about her hasn't become an deterrent.
"If you go look on YouTube, you would think my ministry is in absolute ruin[s], but it hasn't affected me," she said, adding that "people hating on me now are always going to hate. Half the people saying this stuff, if I walked up to them in a beauty shop or in a store, would never say these things to my face. When I reflect on what God is still doing [in my life], I don't have time to focus on people who don't like me."

Why does every negative comment about preachers have to do with their money? Most people don't care how much moeny their doctors make or their lawyers - the truth is - they don't care if the garbage man is making more money than his little cousins; but its a big deal about how much money preachers make. The truth is, all preachers who live well don't get all their money from poor people - some of them actually have well-run businesses and franchises. guess what some of them actually had well-paying jobs before they became well known preachers - couldn't they have used some of that money to live like they live? Bynum is Bynum- I'm not a fan but it has nothing to do with her money or her fame - give it a break already.

Once again there are a lot of people with strong opinions about a situation NOBODY has enough facts to draw a conclusion to. In addition, how about just focusing on showing agape love toward our fellow man instead of relishing opportunities to pounch on strangers.
Come on people, don't get caught up in the foolishness of becoming expert witnesses about topics we only know about as the media doles it out to us.
Truth be told, none of us knows "JACK" about it.

WHAT THE HELL...Karu you are a slimy bastard, you put a glowing cover of Juanita up (pick out certain parts of the interview that distort what she said and meant)so you can get bloggers to respond (knowing they will) and then you put her "Threshing Floor" video up that she removed from her own website along time ago to discredit every glowing thing you wrote in the above paragraph. What an asshole you are! THEN you ignore the fact that her husband just appoogized to her and admitted to hurting her after lieing that he didn't touch her. Unbelievable! So even though, you are a homosexual I see you are still out there protecting the brotherhood. Why not put up Weeks apology, afraid of no response? I am so sick of Black blogger making light of everything about AIDS, sexual abuse and domestic violence ESPECIALLY when it's geared towards Black women as if somehow it's erelevent and doesn't amtter. I'll be glad when Weeks goes off to prison, and people can move the hell on!

Is this religious madam pimp serious. Asking people to "donate" $ 200,000 to build a "floor!" When will these gospel thieves ever stop using the name of God and the teachings of Jesus to full their shameful pockets at the expense and duping of the true believers...!!!! You would think that her husband had beaten some honesty into her head...!!!! She has her damn begging lying nerve.....She`s a religious harlot..!!!! LJ

Pleeeez understand that black folk don't but enough in the offering plate for preachers to live the high life off of them! I've been a church secretary at more than one house of worship (nice ones)... and trust me, what money does come in is just enough to pay the bills, pay the staff, and keep the church clean and running well (yes, it costs money to run a church)! as was stated in previous comments, the preachers that you do see as living very well are able to do so because of great business sense (they are motivational speakers, authors, entrepreneurs, and so on). AND those real men and women of God actually do have members who are being blessed and living well too as a result of SERVING GOD. PS: and "living well" does not always mean living a lavish lifestyle... some prefer to invest their money in the bank!!!

I am in full and total agreement with johnsie mebane. Whatever is wrong in Juanita Bynum's life is none of our business. To God alone she will stand or fall, and she will stand because the God I serve the Lord jesus Christ, is a forgiving God, he will make sure she stands just to shut the mouths of those who have tried to tear her down. God is with her. It is a very dangerous thing to speak against God's anointed vessels. To you who speak against her she may be something negative, but to God she is His anointed woman of God. God's callings and anointings are without repentence. God will restore her. and then repay her enemies. You reap what you sow. remember that the next time you want to tar and feather juanita by num. God hears your words!!!!
