'The Color Purple Tour' star Michelle Williams, who plays jook joint sensation Shug Avery, chats up party-goers at the post-opening reception held at the Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral in downtown Los Angeles.
Uriah thank you for your responses, and I agree with you to a certain point. There are Millions of not only good but great Black men out there. I know of 5 Black Men who are wonderful. My son and 4 of my nephews, not only do they take care of their wives and their blood children, but each one of them has 1 or 2 step children that they have raised and or still raising to adulthood. It is time to show all these caring loving good Black men in a positive venu that would be an encouragement to all these young brothers who think pimping, being a player or a thugh is all that Black do. When we all know that is not true. Gwen
FOR ME THE COLOR PURPLE HAS SO MUCH HEART ITS A BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY BETWEEN SISTA'S STICKING TOGETHER THUR THICK & THIN IT SHOWS HOW MUCH CHARACTER,LOVE,STRENGHT,ENDURANCE, A BLACK WOMAN HAS AND STILL MAINTAIN HER IDENTITY WITHOUT TOO MANY UNFORTUNATE PEOPLE BEING ABLE TO RECOGIZE...I 1ST SAW THE MOVIE,THAN THE PLAY NOW IM READING THE BOOK I TRULY LOVE THE COLOR PURPLE AND ALL THAT IT STANDS FOR I REALLY GOING TO TRY TO SEE THE PLAY AGAIN I HOPE ITS SUCCESSFUL AND EXTENDED FOR A LONGER STAY IN LOS ANGELES
I saw the play while on business in LA 2-26-08. I really enjoyed. I want to treat my daughters when the play comes to Atlanta- why is it that I saw the play for 45.00 and all the tickets for the Atlanta showings are 145.00 and up a piece. I enjoyed the play but come on PEOPLE. why more for south- even new york tickets were cheaper (not after I paid for travel and the ticket (11-11-2007) writers went on strike the same day I arrived. I lost again.

The color purple would be worth going to see. It has such passion. I love the singing and dancing. The touring group is not the same one that is playing on Broadway but they're just as good. All of the actors and singers have honed their skills as singers and actors. http://www.freewebs.com/galleryshops
Omg, guys, nice discussion, Christmas Day is coming, would you love to try something new to celebrate this great holiday? http://bigblackconnect.com you will be surprised…
I saw Color Purple in Chicago, Michelle Williams sucked, they couldn't give away the tickets by the end of the run and I was stupid enough to pay $90 for a ticket last year this time. What a waste. Beyonce' and Kelly must have been holding Michelle up when she was a part of Destinys Child!
