"I'm saying that the story that she's giving is not true. Whoever made it up and gave it to the media certainly leaked it out and there is a consistent focus to do three key elements and possibly four. Number 1) is to destroy my integrity and credibility in the ministry, which would destroy the church, 2) give her a cause that she's never had before which will then, 3) raise money that she needed desperately for her ministry and operations and 4) put me in jail and give up the void where she would no longer have to fill the emotional change and charge that she knew she didn't want to possibly see another woman married to me sometime in the future. And this makes a perfect alibi for her to dramatize to do all four of these things."
-- Embattled televangelist Bishop Thomas Weeks, III on the alleged assault of his estranged wife Prophetess Juanita Bynum. (EUR)

He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone. Can YOU? The body of Christ, or rather those that allow themselves to pass judgement on this whole situation is no better than the people actually involved. A question for the opinionated. Did you pray fro this couple? Their marriage? For the intervention of God in this unfortunate mess? Instead of focusing on them, how about the millions of lives affected by this horror, and more importantly, the name of our God being defiled because of our comments? I mean what would an unsaved person say or think, or rather why would they want to become a Christian when all they see and hear is the saints attacking each other, killing each other with our words. Can we just forget about ourselves and remember God? Is He happy with what you're doing about this situation? Think about it. "A kingdom divided against itself CANNOT stand-that's the bottom line. We should be spending more time on our knees and less time running each other down. I am not excluding myself, this is for ALL of us-P.R.A.Y.-pray until something happens

Junanita Bynum said that domestic violence has a face and she is that face. Give me a break lady! domestic violence has always had a face; women who have been abused and some have even died had the hands of the abuser. How dare you take the suffering of some many women and cash in on their pain. You were married and abused by you first husband. You charge people a lot of money for a word from the Lord. You need need to take your own advise. And by the way the Bible says to seek first the Kingdom of heaven and Gods righteousness. Are You Righteousness Junita?

Bynum taking the stand against domestic Violent? Who have the platform and ability to get thing done? Not the women in their grave or the one who have to stay at the women shelter... Who are you to determine who can take a stand and represent thousand who can't speak out for themselves. She most righteous than you... your comment show where you stand in Chrsit!

-----------
Minister Weeks,
You really lost me after this comment. If you are in the right, then your integrity and credibility will prevail through the trial and tribulations. Keep your focus on God and don't waiver. (Like one of the disciples when he took his eyes off Jesus while walking on the water, he began to sink but began to walk again when he reached out to Jesus.) As for the church, it will never be destroyed because it was and is not built upon you. You are just a vessel. We, the chuch, are the body. Jesus is our foundation and not you.

Somebody read "Ending the American gospel enterprise" These pulpit pimps are the same moneychangers that Jesus whipped out of the temple.

Mr Weeks,
We've all heard these excuses before from other domestic abuse offenders of which you have joined yourself to the group by your own actions against Ms. Juanita Bynum... Admit your wrong doings would be the first step for healing for yourself and do not try to blame anyone for your actions or for whatever punishment the Law decides that you need to pay for your offenses.

Why not admit all that was said and all that was done?
No wonder the masses disbelieve what God says and the
salvation which he offers: those elected to show forth
the salvation of the Lord are embittered and embattled
one against the other. So where indeed is that salvation? Each has named "The Father" as their
"defence" and their "rock of salvation" yet indulge in "fault" and "blame" and excuses for that which has
occurred.
How can God defend you when you speak in defence of
thine own self -using allegations in which to "explain
away" that which you say are "untruths"? Why not just
simply tell the truth of the matter? What is it you fear, you'll lose your congregation?
And who indeed are those to which you minister? Did
they come to you in a "rightous" state or did they come to you in an "unrightous" state seeking rightouness? Then in the name of the God in which you
say you serve - give it to them! Uncut. Unsensored.
Straight-no chaser. And Then let God be thy "defence"
and the "rock of thy salvation"
