Janet Jackson is one of the chosen few to be wholly accepted by the gay community.
Well, at least for this year.
The pop music icon/actress will receive a special award from GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) during their 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, which will be given out this spring.
The 'That's the Way Love Goes' chanteuse is one of two singers to be honored for their work this past year. The other is Rufus Wainwright.
Each year GLAAD -- an organization that monitors how gays and lesbians are depicted in the media – honors networks, television shows and celebrities during four ceremonies to be held in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and southern Florida. (Dates and venues are: March 17 at the Marriott Marquis in New York, April 12 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida, April 26 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles and May 10 at the San Francisco Marriott in San Francisco.) Jackson, who releases her new album 'Discipline' on Feb. 26, is expected to be honored at the Los Angeles event.
"This year's extraordinary nominees exemplify the important strides we have made as a community toward creating a truly inclusive society," GLAAD President Neil Giuliano said in a statement.
Among networks, ABC led nominees with nine nods; among the shows up for honors are 'Ugly Betty' and 'Desperate Housewives.'
The nominees were announced at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah on Jan. 20.

Funny, that everyone who means something, like the REAL critics, love it..stop hating..how many of you all even have a music video or a grammy for that matter? Must suck to wake up looking to rain negativity down on someone..and for what? Just to make you all feel better..HOW PITIFUL you all are..she'll pocket millions of that album and everytime she performs that single, I'm sure she'll hear the "cha-ching" of her multi-million dollar bank account growing larger..LOL LOSERS

These "stars" will do anything for attention once the spotlight runs out. Guess the phoney bra stunt at the Superbowl a few years back ran out of PR opportunities eh? Do us a favor Janet and retire.

And as for the anti-gay comments..Everyone rest assured that this is all the fun these "hateful" people get-hiding behind their computers attempting to insult people they don't even know for something that really is none of their business. People like that make everything their business, but if you picture them for what they really are-likely less than attractive people that sit in front of their computers looking for someone or somewhere to get attention by inciting anger in others because their only friends are their computers and whatever internet chat room buddies they can find, all the while munching on Doritos in between games of Dungeon and Dragons, LOL...I'm gay and proud of it..so feel free to hate me..i'm happy I can do my part to help the folks out there who are intellectually disabled. Janet and JD make a cute couple. She seems happy for a change. I wasn't really impressed with the single though. I think she needs to get back to her musical roots a little. If she is bi-sexual, THAT is a sex tape I'd like to see!!! Guys, if you're dating the right bi-sexual female there are MANY benefits:
1. Most of the time you're checking out the same female in public instead of dealing with an insanely jealous straight girl who decides to punish you in some form or another. In some cases you pick up girls together, it's a team sport!
2. If you are in a comitted relationship with a bi-sexual female, you feel obligated to share: "It ain't no fun if your girl can't have none!" Otherwise, it would just seem that you're trying to cheat anyway.
There are other benefits. Bottom line: you have to be secure enough to deal with it. While most guys fantasize about girl on girl action, many couldn't deal with their woman doing that. In many cases the fantasy is hot, but the reality can be disastrous, especially if there is even a hint of any jealousy. In a 3-way scenario(2 girls!, 1 guy), you and your bi-sexual female need to team up on the girl while doing stuff with one another. No one needs to feel left out, that is key.
