Move over LL Cool J.

Next up to take over the role as "Brick" in the new Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' all-black version of 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' is none other than Boris Kodjoe.

The hunky actor and former model will take over the lead male role in the Stephen Byrd-helmed production while the production's original star Terrence Howard goes on a six-week leave to fulfill contractual commitments.

According to production spokesperson Joe Trentacosta, Kodjoe will take on the role from April 15 through May 22 in the Debbie Allen-directed play, which also stars Tony Award winners James Earl Jones, Phylicia Rashad and Anika Noni Rose.

Howard, who is set to start a major publicity campaign for his new movie 'Iron Man,' will reportedly resume the role on May 23.

LL Cool J has been attached – off and on – to the show throughout its various stages. Insiders hint that the Grammy Award winning rapper may step in to play the role of "Brick" as the show continue its run on The Great White Way.'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' marks the Broadway debuts of all three men -- seasoned acting professionals in their own right.

Kodjoe, who rose to national prominence as Damon Carter in the Showtime series 'Soul Food,' recently sharpened his stage prowess with his starring role in the recent chitlin circuit musical 'Whatever She Wants,' alongside Vivica A. Fox.

His other acting credits include 'Madea's Family Reunion,' 'The Gospel' and 'Brown Sugar.'
