"Racism doesn't exist in the same intensity as it did before. Whether it's Michael Vick or even Barry Bonds, as African-Americans we all know that if we slip up, they're going to come gunning for us."
-- Hip-hop mogul and actor and actor Sean "Diddy" Combs commenting on racism. (USA Today)

If you succumb to ignorance and continue to allow the way others view you to affect your mentality then you will always be a slave both socio-economically and literally. We as a people are no longer victims of oppression, we are victims of self oppression. We look the other way as our young women produce bastard children and we accept the fact our men will always be affiliated with crime and criminal behavior. We allow immorality on one hand yet we scream racism on the other. This is not righteous behavior and we will not be blessed as a tribe and we will not be legitimate as a people.

I agree African Americans, White females seem to be attacking us white males all the time, no matter what they do, how wrong they act, its the white mans fault.
Glad I am a Martian :)

the fact is they are celebs. Thats why "they come gunning for them". Not because they are African American. Take responcibility for your actions and quite blaming your skin color.

"Racism doesn't exist in the same intensity as it did before. Whether it's Michael Vick or even Barry Bonds, as African-Americans we all know that if we slip up, they're going to come gunning for us."
The real racism is in the above comment. It assumes there is a collective "they" ie whites, that all act alike, think alike and feel the same way about African-Americans. The reverse stereotyping and naivette of that comment shows a societal unsophistication that is staggering.
It presumes that every single white person or "they" are exactly alike in relation to a particular thought. Isn't that the very definition of racism?
Stick to your music and clothes Mr. Combs.

Just so Diddy knows, his life is in the white man's hand..A white can decide right now to take away his wealth and he will see how racism is still alive and kicking...P diddy is so blinded and wrapped up in his moolah, there is no way he can feel racism; he is such a sell out, he has no choice but to say racism is not as bad as it use to be; he knows if he says racism exists, he is in trouble with the white man behing his businesses; The white man got him all confused, he doesn't even know how to call himself these days; Sean, make that money don't let it make you; use your wealth and empower the black community just as Oprah is doing; I can sit here and type all day about Diddy, about his acting job, hahahahaha...

Yes racism still exists though it is not as blatant. The day it "may" not is when I (an elderly white man) can walk down the street, and not notice someone’s ethnic background and/or even care.

22. I am sick and tired of hearing about the story of Tawana Brawley brought up by white people assuming nothing happened. If that be the case, during your research of the "so-called facts" John, you failed to mention the voluntary resignation of one police sergeant accused in the rape as so many of your comrades have done when selective memory is used as a convenience. The fact that the case was dropped is no indication that the crime did not take place. Tawana made a statement a few years back explaining why she and her family did not pursue this criminal action and yes, the crime did take place. As for the Rev. Al Sharpton, I applaud him. Why? Because the man has guts to stand up and speak out against what appears to be an age old tradition here in the good old United States of America. It is true that he may not be the brightest man on the planet, but he sure ain't the dumbest either.
The statistics you've stated mean nothing. We as a people (people of color) know the truth. Every day articles are written about unemployment being at an all time low based on statistics when in actuality the majority of people remain unemployed. Why? Because they've fallen off the map. They no longer receive unemployment benefits and therefore are untraceable. I, for one, am glad you took to the time to write in to remind us all how you all really feel about us. You can take your stats and shove them up your you know what. This blog is about a statement that Sean Combs made on race relations. If you want air time on your views, contact your local news station.
Unless you've walked the walk, you simply cannot talk the talk.
___
You're ore racist and a hypocrate thsan you accuse hm and whites of being....Lemme tell ya and others, Buddy-I've walked the walk and I'm proud to talk this talk-becuase "TRUTH" is what y've seen and exerienced ONLY if you were ever innocent to begin wth-not you persoanlly-anyoe ever-I was. I was brought up by parents who taught me to never be prejudiced, and to take everyone for who thy were. We were forbidden to ever say the "n" word or hang around others who did...thy were percieved as ignorant. My Mom helped many poor black eople who wer ehard-working good folks and so dd my grandparents. Thye made many sacrifuces and didn't do it seen by others-they did it becuase it was RIGHT. Then, I get launched into the real world...a school-I got picked on and beat up becuase I was a Gentile....I grew up in a ewish neighborhood where thye hated non-Jews-I was a pretty litle GIRL- was raped later by them-then-did nayone care, like they parents? No. Nothing happened and we wwere warned to shut up or the father of ne, an attorney would see to it we would NOT be appy-anyway-then at scool, mos Blacks hated me SIMPLY becuase I was white. End of story. No story. Fact. I had a wonderful balck friend who didn't care that I was white, and I didn't care that he was balck. Then she moved away.My Mom iked s playing together and so did hers. Ten, I hada Black Panther for a teacher in H.S.eo hated this girl from Ms....in Miami....I was to be hated and destroyed, as she saw it. Backing up-5th grade-wonderful back teacher-loved her-she didn't care one bit about race-I didn't either. I still love her 33 yrs. later. Work life-later-ganged up on by blacks whoknew I had black friends-2 who risked everything at work just to bemy friedn, and I loved them-they were warned that 1 more time-they'd be in trouble. I still don't know what happened to them. They were great and purposely were open about being th friend toprove a point. Blacks are some of he most racstr people on earth. They just can't get it that racism cuts BOTH ways and te sooner they take a long hard look in the mirror and grow up and try to make a difference for the better in the world by spreding love not hate the world would be a bette rplace. There are plenty of whites jus waiting for blacks t prove o us that they ca be non-racist and be our friends and stop whining-life's TOUGH al around. It's tough for us to-no oe will do crud for me unless I DO IT.

Hmmm, unfortunately Sean aka Puffy aka Diddy whatever he is calling himself these days has a skewed view of racism...the only thing that has changed for him as a'black' man is his money...so yes, he is treated differently, perhaps even better but it is only because of the color of his money and not his skin. He is technically buying his way into certain settings. Perhaps Diddy should ask Tiger about not being let into a particular club, ask Danny Glover about not being able to get a taxi, ask Terrance Howard about getting kicked off of an airplane with his child...racism is still very real.
For the brothers making 35k a year, grinding to make even that racism looks a helluva lot different!!!
Diddy's statement makes him look more ignorant than he is!! Hmm, is that actually possible?

As a Jew (white),I disagree with Mr. Combs. It is not nearly out front as it use to be, just as if is for Jews in certain areas of the country, but behind the scenes in the so-called back rooms racism still exits, unfortunately. Chris Rock once asked if any of his white audience would be willing to accept all the money he had if they would switch to black. NO TAKERS. I for one would not. I have friends who are black so I know.
