Halle Berry is joining the ranks of Britney Spears, Usher, Paris Hilton and Sean "Diddy" Combs. And just about every other celebrity notable.
The Academy Award winning beauty has signed a deal to develop her very own fragrance line.
Expected next year, the initial roll-out for the yet-to-be-named products will launch in department stores such as J.C. Penney and will go mass market thereafter reports WWD.
"Halle is an iconic actress and symbolizes beauty to many generations," Coty's senior vice president of global marketing Steve Mormoris said about the pregnant 'Monster's Ball' star, who also endorses Revlon cosmetics.
"She adds another dimension to the celebrity fragrance market. Halle has always been a little more mysterious, not quite as open with her personal life as some other stars. Her fragrances will allow her to present another facet of her personality to her fans."
Celebrity deals reportedly include $3 million to $5 million in advance, with a royalty of about 5 percent paid out to the subject, industry sources noted. Mormoris declined to discuss the terms of Berry's deal with that daily fashion newspaper.
Coty's celebrity portfolio includes the scent brands of Jennifer Lopez, David and Victoria Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kimora Lee Simmons, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Kate Moss and Tim McGraw.
"It's clear to us at Coty that the celebrity segment is alive and well," Mormoris said. "It's constantly being reinvented and refreshed. These fragrances are entertainment, but in a different way."
Meanwhile, Berry's last film 'Things We Lost in the Fire' arrives on DVD next week. The emotionally enthralling film tells the tale of two people brought together by fate to see each other through some of the toughest times of their lives. It stars fellow Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro and 'The X-Files' star and David Duchovny.

I am very proud of Halle for bringing a child into the world and being so beautiful and creative at the same time. When that time comes that I ever become pregnant with a man's child (if it's in the stars), I will be just as lucky as she to make money to support my children and provide for my family without having to be demeaned by a world seemingly unacceptable of the remains of the BABYBOOM generation. We all deserve to fulfill our God given purpose. You know in this world where so many shun beautiful, intelligent women having children, you have to applaud her because she found not only a way to make money while still being pregnant, but a man that supports her and doesn't give her the run around. Thank goodness she didn't have to fall victim to the baby momma syndrome- she's more like an Exalted One. She is very lucky.

Halle we love you but you really made a bad decision when you played the infamous role in monsters ball...I mean what were you thinking??? Congrats on your new baby and fragrance but please no more roles that take you from a queen to just another Paris Hilton. You are much better the that!!

Secondly, if you know anything about pregnancy, it changes a females body especially noses on African American Women. I know when my wife was pregnant her now shape and dynamic changed. A few months after our daughter was born, it changed back to how it looked originally!

Halle Berry sure has aired her dirty laundry having to do especially with her marriages and relationships with Black men. Oh, how she's reveling now with her late in life preganancy for a White lover whose baby she's carrying to full term! Nothing ever bad said about her White Savior baby Daddy! And I don't hate her, I'm not a hater, I don't hate that middle-aged actress.

Big deal that this baby of hers has been carried to full term. The Black men in her world married her and are we to believe she has never been pregnant for people like David Justice or someone wealthy like Eddie Murphy (when she was struggling) and had to suck some dick!? Black men haven't done her wrong, she was just willing to carry a White man's baby to full term.
