Fair-weather Friends: Looks like the defecation is hitting the fan in the never-ending drama of Eddie Murphy and his former "alleged" wife Tracey Edmonds.

The quickie marriage (and even quicker divorce) last month wasn't the end of the tabloid-ready drama between the Academy Award nominated box-office superstar and the beautiful Black Hollywood power wielder.

Enter Johnny Gill a.k.a. "Johnny Thrill."

The New Edition singer, Murphy's close friend, recently appeared on Doug Banks' nationally syndicated radio show, and unloaded insider details about what went awry with the much-hyped marriage arrangements. "One of Tracey's guests said some things that were inappropriate that triggered everything with the mom, and that's how it all started," the 'Wrap My Body Tight' crooner revealed during the interview, while also denying that he is secretly in a relationship with Murphy and was ultimately responsible for the legal ceremony being canceled.

Scandal!!!

The not-so-media shy Edmonds, who is currently gracing the cover of Essence magazine along with Ruby Dee, Jennifer Hudson, Marvet Britto, Kerry Washington and Suzanne de Passe, called Banks on Monday morning to address Gill's revelations. Because of a confidentiality agreement (read: gag order), the ex-wife of music super-producer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds couldn't discuss the issue.

But her publiecist, according to Banks, issued the tersely worded statement: "I was very shocked and disappointed to hear of Johnny Gill's false spin on the chain of events surrounding our wedding. His outrageous lies were clearly a very desperate and pathetic attempt to clean up his reputation at my expense. I would appreciate it if Mr. Gill would refrain from continuing to spread false gossip and lies to the public, and allow everyone involved to move on with their lives. We all know the real truth."

Oh My ...My, My.

Move Over Madonna:
The New York Times reports that Perez Hilton – the gossip blogger that the mainstream media loves to hate – is in negotiations with his very own record label deal with Warner Bros. Records.

"I think I could do a lot for them," the plus-sized, fluorescent hued coif adorning Cuban media sensation said about the pending deal with the music giant. "Madonna's leaving, Perez is coming."

Hilton, legally known as Mario Lavandeira, has had a notable impact on increased music sales of artists that have received his thumbs up ("you will be foaming at the mouth," is one of his most popular catchphrases). His website draws an estimated 2.8 million visitors – and those people are heavily influenced by the former National Enquirer staffer.

A record company affiliation isn't the only thing the burgeoning TV personality has in common with Madonna (who has recorded for Warner Bros. for 25 years and will release her last project, 'Hard Candy,' this spring); Hilton is involved in a sordid sex scandal.

The New York Post broke the news that Hilton "encouraged a handsome young blogger to send sex tapes of himself while he was making promises of promotion for the blogger's own fledgling Web site."

Jonathan Jaxson – a former publicist (of all things) and founder of gossip site JJ's Dirt – said that Hilton "used" him and offered help that never materialized.

"I fell in love with Perez. I thought he had a huge heart . . . but he's just a [bleep]hole," the 24 year old said. "We started working together and communicating on how to make my blog bigger. Then it got more personal and intimate."

True to its form, The New York Post "obtained" communication records between the two – and even published some of the hot and heavy discourse.

Hilton didn't comment to the tabloid.

Whoops Upside Your Head: Talk about something laughable – yet still very sad.

Gil Cates, the producer of the Academy Awards, reportedly apologized to Whoopi Goldberg for omitting her from the much ballyhooed video montage of the ceremony's hosts over the past 80 years.

Goldberg hosted the Oscars a record four times. That's not all; she's also the only Academy Award winner to do so. And the only black woman. She's also a co-host of the daily talk show 'The View,' which is a ratings draw for the ABC – the same network the Academy Awards airs on.

Hmmmm.

The dreadlocked comedienne began to choke up live on the air on Monday after her co-hosts Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters brought up the slight.

The next day, Cates reportedly called her and "talked about the fact that he had made an oversight, pure and simple," she revealed. "He said, `You know I love you.'"
Goldberg said she has "moved on."

I was always told that certain people will always show you what they think of you in the end. That's something to consider.

Something else is that the Feb. 24 telecast garnered its worst ratings in 34 years, with 32 million viewers.

Karma Karma Karma comes back to you hard, to quote Lauryn Hill.
