'They say I'm crazy, I really don't care!' Bobby Brown sang in the first verse of his 1988 hit single 'My Prerogative' ... and boy did he ever live up to the that.Whether it was his highly-rated reality series 'Being Bobby Brown,' or his longtime position as a staple in celebrity gossip circles, the public has maintained an infatuating love affair with the 39-year-old trouble-prone R&B crooner.
And believe it or not, there's plenty more to explore.
With his latest endeavor, the forthcoming memoir 'Being Bobby Brown: The Truth and Nothing But ...,' Brown let's loose on an array of controversial subjects, dishes dirt on fellow celebs and make startling self revelations.
BlackVoices.com has exclusively obtained an advance copy of the tome, which was written with biographer/publisher Derrick Handspike and will be independently published via Down South Books this spring.
In the scorching page-turner, the former New Edition front-man doesn't only pontificate on his 14-year marriage to Whitney Houston (as all of the mainstream media seem to be harping on) today, he also spoke candidly about his affairs with Janet Jackson and former video vixen Karrine Steffans.
About Jackson, Brown says he never abused alcohol as much as he has until his relationship with the 'Rhythm Nation' singer hit the skids: "I can recall that I started drinking heavily when Janet Jackson and I broke up," he writes. "Before I met Janet I would never drink hard liquor, I only drank beer. But after our break up, I started drinking hard liquor abundantly. I took the way our relationship ended very hard. Not to say we were head over heels in love, but she was someone I had a lot of feelings for. Besides, we were young and naive. I was only about 19 or 20 years old. Young love is no joke!"On Steffans, who is also known as "Superhead" for her admitted sexual acts, Brown was less diplomatic: "Yes, she was a friend of mine. Yes, I've slept with her. Yes, I've spent several nights at her house," he stated point blank, adding, "but she was only good for what her nickname stood for and nothing else ... she is a terrible mother ...If there is one thing I can't stand, that's a woman who is not a mother to her children. That's a big turn-off to me!"
Ewww.
Steffans, who blew the bed-sheets off of the hip-hop industry exposing her sexual exploits with some of the
biggest names in Black Hollywood via two 'New York Times' best-selling memoirs, has spoken on record about her love for Brown ; her latest book, 'The Vixen Diaries,' has a chapter titled "How To Save a Life, Part Two" where she writes "While the rest of the world continued guessing the nature of my relationship with Bobby, I was working hard to help him be happy, healthy and sane."The 'I Need A Girlfriend' singer thinks otherwise: "To be totally honest, I feel this woman isn't even worth acknowledging," he writes. "I think she is trying to make a quick buck. I also think she needs some psychological help. She has been mentally and emotionally scarred. She needs a hug!"
Wow wee.
That leads to his former wife, whom he does, indeed, admit that she may have married him to dodge rampant rumors of her longtime lesbian relationship with gal pal Robin Crawford.
There are less than six degrees between Steffans and Houston; they both have had tumultuous, tabloid-ready relationships with Brown, and also are or were romantically associated with young R&B stud Ray-J (who Brown refers to as "the little guy" throughout 'Truth').

It's your prerogative Bobby, so do your thing bro!
What bothers me is the fact that the world has accepted Whitney Houston back into society since she went to rehab and got rid of Bobby Brown. Well i say that thats BS. Let the brotha try to make his money if he can. I can't stand you f%&king HATERS!
Congrats Bobby on your new book and good luck with everything else Brotha.

Bobby I'm gonna' tell you celebrity to celebrity. I may not be as big as you are but I'm glad I started getting noticed later in my life rather than early on for it gave me a chance to mature and do what you NEED to do which is GROW UP! You are almost forty and you have no better sense no class no form and to put the mother of your daughter out there like that, I must say I have even less respect for you than I initially did before! You had everything you needed to become great in your field but you didn't make wise decisions early on and you're still not making them! Basically you take to many drugs and you drink to much and you don't spend enough time thinking about what you do as a mature well-adjusted ADULT! You need to go and get you some kind of help from somewhere and quit blaming others for your short-comings! All that's happened to you is your fault and nobody elses! Take responsibility for yourself and maybe you'll begin to truly become a MAN!

God don't ask you to bare your soul to the world. He instructs you to repent and ask His forgiveness. Bobby Brown, grow up, be a real man, be a real father, stop casting stones, turn your life around and be something that your children can be proud of and you can really feel good about. There is nothing interesting about throwing dirt out on people that you've been with who trusted you. (Birds of a feather flock together) What were you doing all that time you were up in there faces. Does it make you the better person to come out with your truth, no, you can't be trusted by anyone. Stop trying to make money the easy way and get a real job. I have no interest in such a book so you will not be getting my money. You make me sick!

It is up to the "MAN" himself to act out his dreams. If he thinks this will make his life better than so be it! I've been telling people for years that he was not the cause of Whitney's downfall. But NOOOOOOOO, everyone wanted to believe the worse of him. Granted he didn't help (Whitney) gain anything by putting his responsibilities on her shoulders. But to kiss and tell is distrubing.

LET'S STOP PUTTING BOBBY DOWN FOR HIS BOOK.LET HIM EXPRESS HOW HE IS GOING THROUGH A STORM ,HE IS AT A LOW POINT IN HIS LIFE AND HE NEEDS TO EXPRESS HIMSELF,AND THIS IS THE ONLY WAY HE KNOWS HOW.BOBBY ,JUST BECAUSE YOUR DOWN THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU NEED TO TRY TO BRING OTHERS DOWN WITH YOU.YOU CAN TELL HOW A MAN OR A WOMAN REALLY IS,WHEN HE GETS TO A LOW POINT.IF THEY FEEL LIKE THEY HAVE TO DO SOMETHING TO MAKE THEMSELVES FEEL LIKE THEIR SOMEBODY WHEN THEY GO DIGGING DIRT FROM THEIR PAST.TO TRY TO MAKE MONEY TO SUPPORT THEIR FUTURE. GOD BLESS YOU BOBBY..YOU WILL BE OK....I PROMISE YOU,THIS IS YOUR STORM GOD WILL WALK YOU THROUGH IF YOU ALLOW HIM TO.
