'They say I'm crazy, I really don't care!' Bobby Brown sang in the first verse of his 1988 hit single 'My Prerogative' ... and boy did he ever live up to the that.Whether it was his highly-rated reality series 'Being Bobby Brown,' or his longtime position as a staple in celebrity gossip circles, the public has maintained an infatuating love affair with the 39-year-old trouble-prone R&B crooner.
And believe it or not, there's plenty more to explore.
With his latest endeavor, the forthcoming memoir 'Being Bobby Brown: The Truth and Nothing But ...,' Brown let's loose on an array of controversial subjects, dishes dirt on fellow celebs and make startling self revelations.
BlackVoices.com has exclusively obtained an advance copy of the tome, which was written with biographer/publisher Derrick Handspike and will be independently published via Down South Books this spring.
In the scorching page-turner, the former New Edition front-man doesn't only pontificate on his 14-year marriage to Whitney Houston (as all of the mainstream media seem to be harping on) today, he also spoke candidly about his affairs with Janet Jackson and former video vixen Karrine Steffans.
About Jackson, Brown says he never abused alcohol as much as he has until his relationship with the 'Rhythm Nation' singer hit the skids: "I can recall that I started drinking heavily when Janet Jackson and I broke up," he writes. "Before I met Janet I would never drink hard liquor, I only drank beer. But after our break up, I started drinking hard liquor abundantly. I took the way our relationship ended very hard. Not to say we were head over heels in love, but she was someone I had a lot of feelings for. Besides, we were young and naive. I was only about 19 or 20 years old. Young love is no joke!"On Steffans, who is also known as "Superhead" for her admitted sexual acts, Brown was less diplomatic: "Yes, she was a friend of mine. Yes, I've slept with her. Yes, I've spent several nights at her house," he stated point blank, adding, "but she was only good for what her nickname stood for and nothing else ... she is a terrible mother ...If there is one thing I can't stand, that's a woman who is not a mother to her children. That's a big turn-off to me!"
Ewww.
Steffans, who blew the bed-sheets off of the hip-hop industry exposing her sexual exploits with some of the
biggest names in Black Hollywood via two 'New York Times' best-selling memoirs, has spoken on record about her love for Brown ; her latest book, 'The Vixen Diaries,' has a chapter titled "How To Save a Life, Part Two" where she writes "While the rest of the world continued guessing the nature of my relationship with Bobby, I was working hard to help him be happy, healthy and sane."The 'I Need A Girlfriend' singer thinks otherwise: "To be totally honest, I feel this woman isn't even worth acknowledging," he writes. "I think she is trying to make a quick buck. I also think she needs some psychological help. She has been mentally and emotionally scarred. She needs a hug!"
Wow wee.
That leads to his former wife, whom he does, indeed, admit that she may have married him to dodge rampant rumors of her longtime lesbian relationship with gal pal Robin Crawford.
There are less than six degrees between Steffans and Houston; they both have had tumultuous, tabloid-ready relationships with Brown, and also are or were romantically associated with young R&B stud Ray-J (who Brown refers to as "the little guy" throughout 'Truth').

You cannot fix a man who's broke. Broken financially,broken dreams, broken spirit. Bobby's broke yall and even if you buy his book... Bobby will still be broke. I am a true fan of neither, but I feel that Whitney TRULY loved this man and did the unthinkable for most by sacrificing her reputation by being with him. She constantly did the "stand by your man" thing when it was not cool or cute. No, she was no angel either, but of the two stars who shined more brightly? Who looked a little better with who by their side? God bless them both and I only pray that if Bobby has even an ounce of humanity in him, he would abandoned this deal. You were not a victim Mr. Brown and should not reap the benefits or be even a little bit mad because she simply had enough.

30. i agree with you timeforunity, WE ARE OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS KEEPERS! I AM A MEMBER OF UNITED NUWUABIAN NATION OF MOORS.we are truely are one blood, one seed
allah chosen people!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is true. We are Allah's chosen people but unfortunately we have alot in the midst who are deaf, dumb, and blind and will remain that way. That is their choice and their loss. It's sad that many are not recognizing this nor want to but what's good is that most are and are moving towards Allah for he does truly change your life. I commend Bobby Brown for walking on his path of inner soul healing in the manner in which works for HIM!! Only he can decide what that is. There should be understanding when it comes to personal growth. We are all human and we make mistakes because at the time do not know any better. The important thing is recognizing the need to change and the mistakes you make and changing yourself as a person in the manner in WHICH WORKS FOR YOU. IN THE MANNER IN WHAT HELPS YOU TO HEAL YOUR SOUL! This will make you a better person. It does not matter what others think of the manner in which you choose to do this. What matters is that you come out a better human being the way Allah has instilled in us ALL. Don't knock the man for trying to heal. You do not know what his demons are. You do not know his pain. You do not know his life. You are on the outside looking in. If you choose not to buy his book it does not matter for it will be a best seller regardless or your choice not to buy. It will hit the best seller list. This is spoken from someone who is also a very accurate and excellent Clairvoyant!
As Salaam Alaikum
What is wrong with people?. Bobby has done nothing wrong to you people, but yet you all just bash him and bash him. Before Bobby even got with whitney (whom I do Like), she was a party girl going to clubs and using drugs. Bobby may have contributed to some of her using, but he did not put a gun to her and make her do anything. I believe, alot of people should do a little more reading and get the facts correct before bashing someone. I wish both Bobby and Whitney much SUCCESS for the future. I'm buying his BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I would imagine when Mrs. Houston-Brown finally woke up, she probably wondered why in the world did she see in Mr. Brown. It is clear he used her for her fame and fortune. The only think left to say is 0-0 leaves 0.
WATS UP WITH THE TELL ALL BOOK. IM WONDERIN WHAT COULD HE POSSIBLY BE TELLING US THAT WE DONT ALREADY KNOW. I KNOW IM NOT WASTING MY $$$$$ TO BUY IT I MAY PICK IT UP AT THE LOCAL LIBRARY BUT NOT WASTING MY $$$$$ ON IT I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO WITH MY $$$$. AND AS FAR AS HIS COMMENT ABOUT "SUPERHEAD" NOT BEING A MOTHER HOW MANY TIMES HAVE WE ALL SEEN THEIR CHILD HEAD TORE UP WITH HER THUMB IN HER MOUTH BASICALLY I THINK THAT HE NEEDS TO FACE HIS ON PROBLEMS RATHER THAN POINT OUT ANOTHERS. HE AND WHITNEY HAVE THEMSELVES TO BLAME FOR THEIR OWN PROBLEMS EXPLOITING OTHERS IS CHILDISH AND THAT GOES FOR "SUPERHEAD" ALSO IF YOU PUT URSELF IN THE POSITION TO BE USED THEN THATS UR PROBLEMS BUT DONT PUT OTHER PEOPLE BIZNESS ON BLAST. SHE IS LIKE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT YOU ASK ONE QUESTION AND THEY GIVE YOU THEIR LIFE STORY "LONELY HEARTED" SHE IS THE WHORE OF ALL WHORES BUT TRULY I READ THE BOOK AND IT WAS OKAY BUT I STILL DIDNT LIKE THE FACT OF BLASTIN PEOPLE LIKE THAT. AND AGAIN SHE PUT HERSELF OUT THERE AND BACK TO BOBBY HE IS CHILDISH SO I EXPECT HIM TO PULL THIS CRAP BUT I MAY NOT ENTERTAIN HIM JUST LIKE I DID NOT WATCH HIS SHOW AFTER I VIEWED IT THE FIRST TIME AND IT DISGRACED ME HOW WE IS AFRICAN AMERICAN SHOW OURSELVES IS IGNORANT PEOPLE BUT DEMAND RESPECT "A DISGRACE" AND THE WHITE PEOPLE PUT THAT CRAP ON TV TO EXPLOIT US AS OF PEOPLE AND WE WATCH THE CRAP.
"A DISGRACE"
