UPDATE: On April 15, producers of the concert canceled the event citing "scheduling conflicts." According to event spokesperson Gwendolyn Quinn, On The Rocks principals Derrick Sanders and Shelby Joyner are "working with talent and Radio City Music Hall on securing a new date in the future."
Tickets ordered through Ticketmaster Phones or Ticketmaster Online have already been automatically credited to the purchaser's credit card account.
All heaven is expected to break loose on April 19 when some of the biggest female names in gospel music get together for the 'Women Empowerment Gospel Festival.'
Presented by On The Rocks Entertainment, Inc. the star-studded event -- hosted by Prophetess Dr. Juanita Bynum (pictured center) and featuring performances by Shirley Caesar (right), Yolanda Adams (left) and The Clark Sisters -- will take place at New York's storied Radio City Music Hall.
In addition to musical performances, the Rev. Dr. Carl L. Washington, current officiating pastor of New Mount Zion Baptist Church located in Harlem, will be a special guest speaker.
According to the production's spokesperson Gwendolyn Quinn, a host of celebrity speakers are expected to join Rev. Washington in sharing positive and powerful messages for women of all spiritual backgrounds. "The event will give women the opportunity to come together and highlight the efforts of some of the most non-vocal, yet obedient disciples of the Lord," she said. "Several women of the Gospel who are true advocates of inspirational empowerment for women and embody the power of worship and the impact that comes along with it will be honored during the event."
Honorees include First Lady Elder Karen Bernard of Brooklyn mega-church Christian Cultural Center; Pastor Subrenia McDaniel from The Lord's Church Family Worship Center in the Bronx; Evangelist Gail Bligenof from Manhattan's Salvation and Deliverance; First Lady Kim Michelle of Manhattan's Salvation and Deliverance; Rev. Pura M. DeJesus of the Bronx's Love Gospel Assembly; First Lady Joanne Gregori of the Crossway Christian Center in The Bronx; First Lady Peggy Moales of the Prayer Tabernacle, Church of Love Inc. in Bridgeport, CT; and Co-Pastor Jeanette Spencer Rush of Hartford, Connecticut's Ebenezer Temple.
"There are so many people suffering and experiencing difficult times spiritually and personally -- especially women," added Quinn. "This festival will provide hope, comfort and healing for the churched and unchurched."
The promoters have extended their grassroots marketing reach with a flurry of promotional initiatives, including point of purchase signage and a full throttle radio campaign. Starting April 10, a special "Buy One Get One Half Off" ticket promotion became available for five days. "This event marks a rare occasion at Radio City Music Hall," noted Quinn (pictured left), who also reps major music superstars Aretha Franklin and Kirk Franklin.
"Events of this caliber are few and far between at major A-list union venues such as Radio City and gospel artists are not touring, ministering and performing at these venues on a regular bases," she added. "Even with the financial hardships of some, I'm praying that people can come out in large numbers to experience a blessing of a lifetime."
Ticket prices range from $50 to $125 and a portion of proceeds from the event will benefit The Corratta L. Walker Educational Scholarship Fund for Children, a foundation that provides enrichment and personal growth by providing financial assistance for educational opportunities to individuals 17 - 25 years of age.

Juanita Bynum and her husband are the mostly sexually and power oriented, godless people. They do not even talk about Jesus, just themselves and their sex lives. So they should take the word "gospel" out of their festival name.
Check here to see how they really inspire adults and children to follow them.

Church services are free...there are many all over the country... some places have two or three on one block...
Revivals are Free... look in your local Newspapar, in the religous area... there dozen going on every week.
Crusades are free for the lost, for the people on the street, reaching out on every corner meeting the needs of the people.
Street Ministries... also for the lost ministering to people one on one....
Conferences, Convention and Concert ARE NOT FREE EVENTS.... Thousands of dollars have to be paid in advance.. as one sister said above.. the rental of the facility and the facility staff, multi-million dollar insurance, police in plain clothes and in inform must be paid, the facility equipment and sound system must be paid in advance, securities, advertisements (postcards, flyers, radio, Tv, Newspapers, magazines, internet, printing and postal) Their personal event staff along with hotel, transportations, meals and honorarium(sp) for all the guests.
Conference and convention are not for the unsaved, although they can attend and be blessed... It is for those who already know Christ. And most of them is for those who are matural in the Lord, to be ministered and encourage in the work of the Lord. It is not for those who are bearly making it, but those who made it... Why all the hates?...

It's sad because I agree with the responders, What about the sisters who are on the streets, in the dope houses who would love to be ministered too but have not the means. These names are Ballers
(Detroit term), all are rich as cream and money is not an issue but yet their promoting themselves just as the world would. It's like entertainment not ministery, I'm sick of it....they get payed buy a new Rolls and than brag about how the Lord has blessed them. IT"S GETTING OLD.

Rick T... what do you think the local church is for? You don't have to pay a dime to go to church, it is open to the public. What do you think all those ministers (licensed and lay) in the church is for? And the layperson can do more than keeping the seat warm. That's why we have the Street Ministry to minister to the lost on the street...and different ministries inside the church to meet the needs of those who is on the street, in jail, hospital, nursing home, shelters, Rehab etc... it is you and my job... not those women who are hosting a conference for those who are already saved, and most are in ministry but need to be revived, encourage and ministered too.
We always expect somebody to do what we should be doing... I feel if you don't have the money... DON"T GO!!!.... Praise God anyway
Let them do what God have them to do and we do what God have us to do.... Everything cost money.... Salvation is the only thing that is free.

I normally try to keep my comments to myself but wrong is wrong. You do not say it is a conference to empower when those you are trying to reach can't afford to get in. As artists, yes I do believe in compensation for talents as I am a believer who is also an entrepreneur, but you do not attach a price tag to an event to reach out and win souls and say it's God. It is flesh.

I have to recant my statement after re-reading the purpose of the event. The purpose of the event is to celebrate women in the body who empower not to hold a conference or concert. In that aspect then yes they should charge and if you can't go stay home. There is nothing in the word of God that prohibits us from celebrating one another. I think a lot of us our missing the point of the event and the article because of the faces on the screen. It is not fair to pre judge a thing without all of the facts and jumping on the bandwagon, and posting a message in response to other misguided comments.

Tony posted May 8th, 2008"67. Juanita Bynum, Like other so called PROPHETS, disturb me greatly. women who are poor, and broken can not always atted her overpriced 'emotion-based' conferences. Additionally, she should get her house in order PRIOR to trying to minister to other women. "Pick the style out of your own eye before you try to pick mine out".
Beware of false prophets"
Tony, it is a fundraising for scholarship program... It cost money to have an event like this... thousands of upfront cash, so they need to charge.
What disturb me when these so call Christian who trying to be an heresay, false prophet and teacher hunter, can't tell a true prophet form the false. They just as blind and foolish as they want to be. They are blind by $$$$$ because that is where their heart is at. Juanita Bynum is doing just find... she taken her situation and using it as a steping stone to the next level. She is going on with her life.... so Tony, get a life!!!
